Hello Hallyuplussers and welcome back to In Case You Missed It! Our weekly wrap-up for all things Asian Entertainment! This week we saw comebacks from Yunho, EVERGLOW & Chen, and a solo debut for TWICE's Jihyo. Plus Chuu's court case against her former agency finally came to a close. All this and so much more in this week's ICYMI!

MONDAY:
#1- We started off the week with a few new announcements related to comeback and upcoming debuts. We have two new debut announcements! Fantasy Boys will be making their debut this September. Their agency has yet to announce an official debut date, however, they have teased their upcoming debut with some creative storyboard illustrations from group member, Hong Sungmin. Also making their debut soon will be the 4-member idol band QWER. The group will be produced by the popular South Korean YouTuber Kim Gye-ran and will include former NMB48 member Lee Siyeon. She will serve as the group's main vocalist.

#2- On Monday, NewJeans were announced as the newest models for the Hyundai Department Store, Duty-Free. We congratulate them on gaining another exciting opportunity!

#3- We also had a new contract announcement this week! It's been revealed that Park Yoo Na — of Sky Castle & Hotel De Luna — has signed an exclusive contract with YG Entertainment. This comes following the news that her former management company had gone out of business due to management problems. We look forward to her future activities while working together with YG Entertainment!



TUESDAY:
#1- While on the way home from schedules earlier in the week, NCT's Taeil was caught up in an accident while riding his motorbike home. SM released an update on Kwangya club regarding the NCT member's condition. They stated that he had been taken to the hospital for assessment and treatment where it was ultimately determined that he had received a thigh fracture from the accident and would require surgery. As a result, Taeil will be unable to participate in the upcoming 'NCT Nation: To The World' group concert on the 26th of August. Instead, Taeil will be focusing on his recovery and will only rejoin group activities once he is physically capable. We wish him all the best in his recovery, and hope to see him promoting again in the near future!



WEDNESDAY:
#1- we had a few more upcoming debuts and comebacks announced on Wednesday. The Queendom Puzzle project group EL7Z will be making its debut in September. While Baekho, SHINee's Key, Weeekly & MAMAMOO's Hwasa will also be returning with new music! Baekho will be returning with a new digital single at the end of the month, Hwasa & Key will be releasing new music this September, while Weeekly is set to return in October. We can't wait!

#2- Exo's Chen came out with some exciting news this week! On Wednesday we learned that the idol would be holding his marriage ceremony with his wife in October. The couple have officially been married for three years, however, had not yet held their official marriage ceremony. We're sure he's looking forward to it just as much as we are!



THURSDAY:
#1- Great news for former Loona member Chuu this week! On Thursday it was announced that the idol had won her court case against her former company, BlockBerry Creative, and has now become a free agent! We congratulate her on her win and look forward to her future activities now that the is officially out of the company.

#2- SEVENTEEN's leader, S.Coups will be sitting out of the group's upcoming official schedules after it was found that the idol had suffered from a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) earlier this week. We wish him the best and hope to see him back to full health soon.



FRIDAY:
#1- We had more comeback announcements on Friday. Ailee, Mimiirose & Lee Chaeyeon will all be returning with new music next month! Ailee will be back with a new single on the 1st of September, Mimiirose will be returning on the 14th of September with their 2nd single. Lee Chaeyeon will also be returning with new music next month, however, a date is yet to be announced. Which artists are you looking forward to the most?

#2- Sad news for BDC fans this week. It was announced by their agency, Brand New Music, that the group would be disbanding following the release of their final single on the 26th of August. Are you sad to see them go?

SATURDAY:
#1- There were no new updates on Saturday



SUNDAY:
#1- Similarly to Saturday, we did not see any new updates on Sunday.

#2- JIHYO - KILLIN' ME GOOD
TWICE's leader and main vocalist Jihyo finally made her official solo debut this week with 'Killin' Me Good' from her first solo album, 'ZONE'. This marks the second official TWICE solo release since Nayeon's 'POP' in 2022. 'Killin Me Good' is an RnB single with elements taken from the funk and easy-listening genres to give us a fun and interesting debut from the TWICE leader! Throughout the accompanying music video, Jihyo chronicles the ups and downs of a relationship and how it affects her perception of love as a whole. The lyrical content, however, does not seem to address the downsides of relationships at all and only displays the positive euphoria that she feels when they're together. The title track, this time, is probably one of the weakest songs on the album. It seems like JYP picked the safest song on the album while shafting the catchier songs such as 'Talkin About It' & 'Nightmare', which could have just as easily been her promotional single, in an effort to appeal to a broader audience.





#3- U-KNOW YUNHO - VUJA DE
TVXQ's Yunho came back earlier this month with his first solo release in two years, 'Reality Show'. 'Vuja De', acts as the artist's follow-up single to last week's 'NEXUS'. The song is an upbeat release where the idol takes us into an alternative reality where he puts on a fantastic show for the audience. We see pop culture and complex mathematical references littered throughout the single in an effort to portray the message of the song through its lyrics. We see references to 'The Truman Show', a film which deals with similar themes to the general plot of 'Vuja De'. The titular character, similarly to Yunho in this music video, is placed within a simulated reality, where he is unknowingly being used for the entertainment of others. The film concludes with the main character breaking free from the simulation and society's expectations of him in the process. Thus living his life on his own terms and is free to make decisions based only on his own actions. As for the song itself, it is an upbeat track that incorporates elements of big-band jazz that will leave you wanting to quit your day job and join Yunho as he parties the night away!





#4- ≒JOY - EXALT BEYOND THERE

The newest Shashahiro Rino-produced idol group, ≒JOY returned this week with 'Exalt Beyond There'. A B-side & coupling single from ≠ME's upcoming single, 'Omawase Burikko'. Esumi Renon serves as the group's centre for this release. Right from the get-go, we are introduced to a high-tempo & fast-paced instrumental that sets the tone for the rest of the single, while also presenting us with stunning visuals of the Japanese countryside and cityscape during a sunny day. In this release, the group sings about overcoming burdens and challenges. Proving that, as long as you persevere, there will be a light at the end of the tunnel.
