Kingdom Season 2 Predictions Begin

Road to Kingdom season 2 is currently being filmed.

Despite this series not even airing yet, discussions and predictions on the lineup for the next season of Kingdom which is expected to film/premiere in 2025 is already underway.

The qualifications for entering Kingdom seem to be that you must be a male group or soloist who has won Mcountdown (I’m assuming within the past year?)

With this in mind, people on the internet are currently making predictions on the next season’s lineup based on the groups/soloist who qualify so far:

- Astro
- TXT
- SF9 (Formerly competed in S1 of kingdom)
- Kang Daniel
- Kim Wooseok/Wooshin
- Enhypen
- Riize
- ZB1

Personally I can’t see TXT or Enhypen participating, they seem like too big of an act and I doubt Hybe would allow it. Also I don’t think Hybe would allow two of their groups to compete against each other, think of the fan wars

I don’t think I can see SM letting Riize participate either? (If WayV qualified I can maybe see WayV competing, but not really Riize).

I’m also hit or miss if SF9 would compete again. They had Oneus compete again in RTK S2 so who knows?

ZB1 and maybe Kang Daniel are the only two I can see participating so far.

Hybe and SM would never stoop to throwing their acts on an mnet competition show. I'm not sure how active SF9 will be by next year and I don't think Daniel would put himself through it. I'm not sure there will ever be official Astro promotions again. I'm not sure Wooseok has been big enough as an individual act to qualify.

ZB1 is an easy bet and I wouldn't be surprised if The Boyz came back to defend their legacy (unless contract negotiations go really south) and Ateez and maybe Stray Kids I could see coming back.

I could a solo from Winner going on. Mino would be a beast. Maybe even the whole group as a comeback since I think Seungyoon finishes enlistment this year? I could also see YG sending Treasure. The only Hybe act I could maybe see going is TWS or Boynextdoor. I'm not sure if P1Harmony is big enough to go on they're a little borderline but they seem like a good fit for this kind of show.

Would be interesting to see a band and how that would shake up the format, and N.Flying will be back together by the end of this year. They're also definitely having a moment in Korea right now thanks to Lovely Runner. Cnblue or Ftisland have also been fairly active lately.

I could maybe see Infinite doing the show now that they're semi-back and independent. Maybe Monsta X? I'm not really sure what their enlistment is looking like or if they'd go on without all members. Maybe not-B.A.P I'm not sure how far they're planning on taking their group promotions or how well their comeback did.

It's a pipe dream but it is mnet and I think it'd be insane if they could secure a (mostly) full Wanna One reunion. Obviously no Guanlin but a lot of the others really aren't that busy these days. The rigging allegations would be crazy though.

I don’t think I can see Ateez or Straykids coming back, I feel like they’re both too popular now. Voting was BRUTAL back then against each other when they were less popular, it would be a total war zone now. I’m having an anxiety attack just thinking about it

I don’t think I can see The Boyz coming back since their younger brother group is in RTK2.

(*edit* I can’t believe I forgot this but Kevin made it very clear over the years that they are never Ever EVER doing Kingdom again the other members seem back him up on that. Those boys seem low-key traumatized by it. I swear every few months Kevin drops a thing that Kingdom/RTK was the worst and something they never want to ever go through again )

P1Harmony would be perfect for the show! I agree with you there. I also agree with you that a solo from Winner or Treasure would be a good fit but I low-key feel like YG has too much pride than to send their groups on a survival show.

Ikon were still with YG when they were on Kingdom so I don't think YG is fully against mnet competitions. But Ikon had been the black sheep of the family for a while by then so maybe they were a special case lol
