NuguSo a boy group member was caught partying overseas, pictured with some girls, surprisingly everyone was pretty chill over it, now, do you think the public would have had the same reaction if it were a female idol?
*I personally don't think you should critize anyone over partying or enjoying life anyway*

It should be the same, but it wouldn't.
No. She would be dragged through the dirt for it.
It should be the same but sadly it isn't. Sexism is still alive and well.

NuguThat's what I think too, like when girl groups do sexy concepts and a lot of people call them sluts or attention whores, but the same ones who swears at them are usually crazy over guys ripping their shirts and thrusting on the floor or grabbing their crotchIt should be the same, but it wouldn't.

It is called Oppalogist
If the situation is exactly the same including their popularities I think the general reaction would be the same. There are a lot of variables though in real life. The gender isn't the only thing that determines general perception, and reaction to things. Things like history of reactions of the people and what that person has done before that got some public feedback, and so many more.
I think in general in Korea a woman or any minority would get more haters, but you always have to remember the haters are in most cases the minority. Everyone gets haters if they are famous. The percentage of it is the difference. Women imo for sure get way more hate in Korea than men, but I wouldn't say it guarantees everything a female celebrity does would elicit a negative reaction. Just that in the exact same situations she would get a higher percentage of hate to support ratio, but not by much.
I know we like to criticize how patriarchal and prejudiced towards women and minorities Korea is, and rightfully so, but let's not try to make it out to be as if they were persecuted. It's not like just being a woman would make your life miserable in Korea. There is a disparity in treatment for sure, but I would say it's more in line with how several places in the Americas are for instance as opposed to other horrible cases like the middle-east.

NuguI asked because I saw comment of netizens saying the reaction would be different if it were a female idol, to make a contextIf the situation is exactly the same including their popularities I think the general reaction would be the same. This guy was caught partying overseas dancing surrounded by girls and enjoying his time, now, if a girl idol would to be caught partying overseas dancing surrounded by guys and enjoying her time, would people react like that? in a perfect world of course the reaction would be the same but in the real world we know it won’t, it’s doesnt matter if the girl has had some scandals, she’ll probably get comments calling her slut for that because it’s what happens pretty much everywhere
Male girl loads of girls = champ
Girls with loads of boys = slut
