In regards to television, magazines and internet not reporting Johnny Kitagawa's death, it is rumored that "assumptions are being made" and "there is a gag order." One entertainment writer says the following:
"In regards to the media not reporting his passing it is said that "assumptions are being made" and "there is a gag order," but it is not only that, there is also a fundamental reason why it hasn't been reported. As long as Johnny's Jimusho and his relatives not announcing his death, the mass media will not report the news. For example even if the media relations knew of his death, they will not report it."
