One Hundred and KBS Feud Drama Summary

As a Deobi (and Buddy and Shawol/Taemnt tbh) I have been ready to throw some chairs the past few days (┛ಠ_ಠ)┛彡┻━┻

This is an update to Xiumin's alleged blocking from performing on KBS.
Long story short the situation has escalated even farther to MC Mong banning any group under the 100 parent company umbrella (IMB100, BPM, and 100 group which houses TBZ) from performing with/on any company channel or show that's associated with SM entertainment?

The groups other than Xiumin aren't being boycotted, MC Mong made the executive decision that all 100 company groups are now banned from performing in so many things.

I will try my best to summarize this, though with both the timeline and how messy everything is even i'm a bit confused on things.

KBS Denies Blocking

In this source article, an anonymous insider revealed that SM heads were seen going to the KBS building for a "meeting" around the time 100 made the accusations that SM was blocking them from performing. The person stated those people had no business visiting the building cause they aren't in charge of management. When asked the SM heads mentioned at first denied being there but then said they only went to show support to Hearts2Hearts.

The article mentioned that KBS, MNET, and MBC all said "it would be difficult" for Xiumin to appear on their on their shows this week in March when he makes his comeback.

KBS also says the rumors that they are banning Xiumin are "Groundless".

The Boyz Get Affected

Next week (March 17th) The Boyz will be making their first comeback outside of IST with their full album "Unexpected".

Hyunjae was supposed to guest star on Lee Mujin Service but the appearance got canceled due to the conflict going on between 100 and KBS.

Lee Mujin was also announced to not be recording Lee Mujin service either due to the fact that he is an artist under the 100 umbrella (he's under BPM). He was not going to film due to the current 100 and KBS war going on as well.

Lee SooGeun, an entertainer who is currently an MC on the KBS Joy show called "Ask Anything" was also announced that his airing of the show would be canceled.

Something important I would like to shout out that these cancelations to everyone's understanding was not entirely the artist's choice. It appears MC Mong canceled everyone's schedules with KBS in protest.

Fans Angered

After this was announced many K-Deobi flooded to social media in anger. Everyone was angered as to why The Boyz's promotions had to be affected due to Xiumin and MC Mong's issues with KBS and SM. MC Mong is still very much hated in South Korea and the K-Deobi fans have been attacking TBZ and yelling at them to go back to IST ever since they left and this whole matter hasn't been making matters any better.

International Deobi have been divided on the matter. Some people are angry that MC Mong is making everyone join the ban/boycott while others think the members would have been more than happy to boycott to support a fellow company artist being mistreated.

To be honest almost all the fans of the other 100 groups have been voicing their frustrations. Shawols in particular were voicing their anger since it's pretty well known by now that the reason Shinee hasn't had any full group promotions despite literally all the members publicly voicing how much they want group promotions right now is because of BPM and SM's inability to agree to work together. (I would like to shout out though that it was announced in the middle of all of this that Shinee will finally have group promotions soon with some concerts coming up.)

It's very tense right now.

Funeral Wreaths

The anger of K-Deobi feeling The Boyz have been wronged hit a point where K-Deobi sent funeral wreaths and protest trucks outside of the 100 building due to their mistreatment. 100 was very quick to demolish all of the funeral wreaths though.

This angered International Deobi who felt the boys don't deserve funeral wreaths, but other people are trying to shout out that the wreaths are for the company and not The Boyz themselves.

Boycott "Seemingly" Over

The head of KBS released the statement regarding Lee Mujin service:​

The selection of 'Music Bank' performers is entirely up to the PD. This incident is a communication issue between the production team and the agency. We haven’t even considered another MC until Lee Mu Jin returns. If we continue communicating, I believe our sincerity will be understood.​

And 100 responded:​

We trust Han Kyung Cheon's statement and will prepare for Lee Soo Geun, Lee Mu Jin, and other artists to resume filming next week. We also ask KBS for active cooperation. However, as we stated in our first statement, we only received an unofficial response that the reason for Xiumin's 'Music Bank' appearance was 'because it is impossible to appear at the same time as a singer from a certain agency.' We felt that this response was unfair treatment to the artist, so we attempted communication several times, but other than the media's response that it was 'groundless,' we have not heard a specific explanation up until now. We will wait for KBS' official position on Xiumin's 'Music Bank' appearance being cancelled."​

This "seems" true so far, and it was announced today that Lee Mujin will be filming his show again and Hyunjae will once again be staring on his show again next week.

The Boyz Removal

Coincidentally, fans have also been voicing their frustration online today since it appears The Boyz have been removed from preforming at This Year's KBS's Kpop Festa this year. The Boyz were advertised to be preforming at the festival on twitter but upon ticket sales which has recently opened there is no sign of The Boyz preforming anymore on the website.

Something I just want to shout out though is that Korean fans are showing screenshots of The Boyz being removed but when I check the website right now they are still there???

No one knows what's going on, but if The Boyz are being removed from the festival it's heavily speculated that it's due to the current feud between 100 and KBS.

Knetz are lamenting as to why fans (and The Boyz too) must suffer due to the ongoing feud between the companies.

To wrap up, by "ongoing feud between 100 and KBS" to my understand its more of a ongoing feud between MC Mong and KBS/SM.

I also feel like i'm missing out on more stuff? I'll make another post later if I remember, but overall this is the main gist of things.

What is your opinion on this matter? Do you think all 100 company artists about boycott companies that are boycotting Xiumin? Or do you think they should be left out of this?

This is the biggest dividing question right now it seems.

idk why the company is dragging the other artists into it...obviously if sm is blocking Xiumin from performing on KBS, that's freaking awful, but them banning their other artists from appearing on KBS hurts them way more than it hurts KBS...

SM is just being SM. The first source article with the insider link mentioned something about SM not wanting Xiumin to promote the same time as Hearts2Hearts? (Are they worried he would distract from their debut or would take away all the music show wins?)
