lately a dating app called "オタ恋" that is targeted at otakus has been getting relentlessly mocked due to their promotional campaign which features "couples" that met each other using the app

they have been getting blasted for a couple of reasons
  • for blatantly using AI to generate pictures and trying to pass them as examples of the user base
  • for portraying men as the stereotype of "losers" yet also purposely pairing them with girls that looks like idols
  • for ____ (guess what? answer below)

oh also some pictures they are creating with AI to pass as the girls that use the app are generated to look like minors

so yeah, if you start an account there you probably are going to be added to a list :doge:

btw this sounds like an obviously scam, reading the website is stated that the app is free for men but once they are matched with a "girl" they have to start paying a monthly fee to talk with her

you could argue that the campaign is working since people is talking about but who the hell would want to sign up knowing all that?

well at least these are funny

some Youtubers tried to recreate the pictures of the website themselves

you know simply using actual people to pose in the pictures makes a huge difference
