What would music be without drummers? Pushed to the back to let the rest of the band shine (as well as for technical reasons), drummers often get overlooked. Even sitting down, they can show a wealth of personality. And today, on Hug a Drummer Day, we will follow your beat!



#1: N.FLYING'S JAEHYUN

N.Flying has had a great year thus far. They experienced sudden overnight success as their song "Rooftop" shot to the top of the charts. Because of that, they were able to get their first win on a music show! The drummer, Kim Jaehyun, seemed the most emotional.

Jaehyun, now 26, had trained with FNC from when he was 14. Can you believe that? The band went through many ups and downs, but he persisted and always smiled! Another reason we love Jaehyun so much is his ability to stand out despite being in the back. Take a look at this fancam here to see just how much his character comes out!

#2: DAY6'S DOWOON

Dowoon was not initially in the lineup that was formed in 2014. Everything changed in 2015 when he joined the group we know as DAY6! Things turned right as they gained an adorable little maknae, and all the members now tend to dote on him. Don't be fooled by his cute looks though, as he has a killer deep voice! Despite being a drummer, he's been taking vocal lessons and is improving day after day!

#3: FTISLAND'S MINHWAN

Minhwan has always been a quiet one but to many people's surprise, he became a father at the age of 25! Not only that but his wife, former Laboum's Yulhee, is now expecting twins! Despite his busy personal life he still finds time to perform with FTISLAND. In the first half of 2018, he made a solo debut, proving he could sing just as well as he played the drums!

#4: THE ROSE'S HAJOON

Being born in the year of the dog is fitting for this idol, not only because his favorite animal is the dog, but because he's got an absolute puppy face! The Rose's Hajoon has been drumming since he was young. He was originally in another band called Windfall, with the same band mates save Woosung. This drummer went to school with Red Velvet's Seulgi and was spotted trading albums with her backstage. He is also friends with fellow music mate Jaehyun, and they have known each other since predebut! Check out how effortlessly he plays!

#5: ONEWE'S HARIN

Before debuting in ONEWE, we saw Harin in The Unit as a part of the RBW band MAS, which everyone doubted had any dancing skills. Everyone pitied them, wondering how they could possibly develop any technique quickly enough to survive the show. However, he, along with his fellow members, showed us just what he was capable of.




At the ripe age of 21, ONEWE's Harin has gained quite the strong image. With his thick eyebrows, this multi-talented drummer with many charms is also a beatboxer. His band debuted just this year, in May, so we're really anticipating to get to know Harin and the other members more!
