IZ*ONE Kim Chaewon!
She never got inside the top 12 during the duration of Produce 48, of course with the exception of the finals. On the first episode, her rank was 21. Her lowest rank was 30 and her peak was 10 making her a debuting member.
This may seem a little fishy, but no one really complains (let’s take out the few six people who do in the context). Here’s why:
1. Chaewon is arguably the second best vocalist after Yuri. If not, third after Yuri and Eunbi. If not, first among all, no arguments after. Here is a fancam of Chaewon as the main vocalist in their So Curious stage:
2. Chaewon is an amazing dancer. Here is the dance practice for IZ*ONE’s version of Rumor where Chaeyeon and Eunbi is present BUT Chaewon still snapped.
3. Chaewon is born to be a center. Here is the performance where Chaewon took Wonyoung’s place and a video of Produce 48’s To Reach You.
4. Chaewon is a goddess, a fairy, a visual deity, a real life doll, a human manifestation of beauty. No pictures needed to explain a universal fact.
And probably more reasons, yet these four are the foundation facts.

I mean, who doesn't love Kim Chaewon? She is basically the full idol package. As you said she is a great vocalist, with a clear voice that suits almost all kinds of songs. And she is not often mentioned in dance rankings, but she is #1 for me in IZONE when it comes down to choreographed dances. Her moves are just so sharp and always on beat: it's hard not to focus on her. And ofcourse, she is a visual and center material.

Guestngl i didnt like her for a long time mostly due to her visuals kek and ive never found her really interesting
but her voice has been growing on me so much she probably has my fav vocal color in the group

I really can’t understand why she never made top 12. Thank goodness she joined iz*one in the end. I can’t imagine iz*one without her

For Chaewon it was really curious, she never entered the top 12 but she always made it to the next qualifications and finally succeeded in the final.
I think she wasn't the 1st or 2nd pick, but more the 3rd or 4th choice for many people.

i think she was a surprise for me. she was never in the top and only hover around that bubble so i didn't expect her in the final line-up, but she's talented and ended up as a nice addition

Which is more confusing, because the finals' voting system only allows one vote per user.

Quite the opposite actually, she has a strong core following but many fans of other people didn't take notice in her (she barely had screentime/plotline at all) so she really shined when it was 1pick time because her solo fans are quite strong compared to other contestants that are well known but lack a core fandom
