Excuse My CharismaI'm from Britain and in most schools we have houses, at school a few of my friends were from different countries and they were shocked that we had houses.
Like they didn't have anything like that in their country.
For anyone who's confused what I mean by houses, they're basically just teams (think Harry Potter lol).
In my school houses were assigned based on the class you were in, whereas in some schools it's just randomly assigned.
The houses then compete in different competitions like sports, music etc.
Anyway, do you have anything like this in your country?
I'm curious as to whether it's just a British thing or if other countries do this too.

What in the hell that sounds fun. We don’t have them here. The only time we compete is homecoming week and we compete between grade levels. It’s just a one day thing.

We had houses in my school and they were randomly assigned. It was fun as houses compete against one another. I was in Yaquooth so our colour was red and I fell in love with that colour! The name means a Precious stone.

Also a Brit! Primary school we were randomly assigned houses once we were juniors and had PE shirts to match the colour. Unfortunately, I was in a bright yellow kit which was a nightmare with insects in summer. High school we were put into forms that were lettered after houses and we competed in them for sports day (well my unsporty ass didn't lol)

Excuse My CharismaSo glad my school didn't have different PE kit colours. In senior school my house was green so I would have looked like a leprechaun lolAlso a Brit! Cool!
We only had plain numbers and letters lol like 1A (first year, class A).
In high school, I was in class D for the first three years and C for the last two. So 1D, 2D, 3D, 4C and 5C.
My middle school only had a class for each year lol

Yes. We have the ABCD houses, I was in B which is for Browning. Our team came last this year at Sports day but it's okay it's not like I care. My favourite activity is Cheer Festival, that was the best even tho we came 3rd.

We had houses. They were mainly used for school sport & roll call, they were divided into colours here. I was in yellow house for both primary & high school.

We had that in my school in the US, which was a private womens college. You could be as serious or as not serious about it as you wanted though. You could live there for all 4 years, always go to friday tea, participate in rivalries with another house, sit with the house at dinner, have little sibs that you 'willed' things to when you left, wear house gear, etc., or it could just be the place where your head hit the pillow at night usually.
