Should KPOP agencies take in trainees from SEA than China?

Seeing how some chinese idols once debuts in a group, and returns back to China so often, is it time companies look over to big SEA nations like Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Philippines for trainees? Since these countries music markets are small, maybe the chance of them not leaving their groups is higher?

Koreans don't like SEA visuals. They should take more Taiwanese idols instead.

I don't know how far is Korea from SEA when you take a plane but China (Est Coast of course) and Japan are way more closer so I guess it's easier for young teens and their family to let them go. And easier for label to prospect and to hold auditions. But that said, we've seen idols who lived in US/Canada.

Maybe the visual don't really stick their expectations ?

Yuehua is so messy for sending away Yiren (if rumors are true). Girl is literally one of the aces of Everglow if not THE ace. There is still Sihyeon though.

Would knetz approve visuals like these boys and girls? They are from Vietnam btw, and the boys are trainees for RBW Vietnam office.

Some do, but in this case wouldn't it be smarter to take in more Japanese trainees as they tend to be loyal to the group/company and Japan is a much bigger and more reliable market for Kpop traditionally?

I think companies are taking quite a few trainees from SEA tho, just not a lot are able o debut for whatever reason...don't know.

There are some advantages. The major one would be more support from those countries. We all have some degree of nationalism within us, which makes us want to root for our fellow countrymen lol

Personally, I hope that SEA countries are able to further develop their music industries so they can have their own place in the world. Something about the way that some k-nets speak of SEA idols rubs me the wrong way. I want to see their big egos knocked down several notches.

Sometimes I wonder if koreans created Z-POP(Zboys and Zgirls)to test the water if SEA idols can handled the pressure of being a idol. Even though they are not directly KPOP, they are doing the same things as korean idols like greetings, own variety show, makeup, music style etc...

Maybe. Many Vietnamese people are enthically Chinese tho. Basically the ones that have a higher percentage of East Asian blood in them eg: NCT's Ten might fit k beauty standards.

The last girl is quite cute.

I mean, agencies are taking trainees from Thailand since we have Lisa, Ten, Bambam and Sorn. Lots of comps host auditions in SEA countries too, so I guess it really depends on the talents?

I heard SEAns are not treated well in SK due to racism, etc. plus kpop/entertainment is a very unforgiving so it’s probably doubly worse for SEAns to be trainees there

Even if that rumor is true...it worked for WJSN right? No reason for her to quit Everglow. Poor girl will have an insane schedule if she makes it far tho
Who is the girl from WJSN that went?? I only know Bona and Songso from that group. If it worked out for them then that's great.

I was thinking of Kyulkyung from Pristin.

Xuanyi and Meiqi made it under the top 11 of the chinese produce season and debuted with rocket girls if I'm not mistaken. They are also managed by Yuehua I think
