RUMOR SM to only debut a new girl group next year, no new boy group(s)

It was initially believed that SM would be debuting a new boy group and girl group in 2020, but new rumors have emerged that suggest otherwise. According to an unknown source, SM will only be debuting one group next year, that being the new girl group. Perhaps they came to their senses and realised that they already have a field of testosterone in the company and decided it’d be time to add some girls to the mix ​

It’s not really that surprising. I don’t think anyone expects them to debut a new boy group next year. They don’t have any male SMRookies or even any rumoured male trainees aside from the occasional appearances at concerts. When they made the announcement, I doubted that they would end up debuting a new boy group and if they did, it’ll probably be associated with NCT.

I’ll be very surprised if they do debut a boy group next year but rumors about SM’s plans like these are always popping up and they rarely end up true. So I highly doubt that there’s any credibility behind the Weibo account. They seem more like predictions to me.

Imo I always thought that if there will be new bg, it would be NCT unit.

Cool, I think it would be a bad idea to debut a new boy group cause NCT hasn't reached big group status. Honestly I think they shot themselves in the foot with the rotating concept though, it kinda seems difficult to know when to move on to new groups because of it.

Back in August there was a rumor that SM was going to release the English version of "The Only". But we haven't seen it.

Seulgi does have solo potential. But I find it puzzling that she's done mostly duets.
