According to several news reports, B.I admitted to some suspicions during police questioning regarding his 2016 drug case and therefore has been booked as a suspect.

On September 17 at 9 a.m. KST, B.I went in for questioning at the Gyeonggi Southern Provincial Police Agency under the status of someone with information about a case. Following inquires about matters such as B.I allegedly purchasing marijuana from an acquaintance in 2016 and using it, he admitted to some of the suspicions. Therefore, his status has been changed to that of a suspect.

After over 14 hours of questioning, B.I exited the police station at around 11:30 p.m. and stated to the press, “I’m sorry for evoking criticism.”

The police have booked him on suspicions of violating the Act on the Control of Narcotics, Etc. and they plan to send his case to the prosecution soon.

In addition, Yang Hyun Suk will soon be called in for questioning as part of the investigation into suspicions of intimidating the informant in 2016 who first brought up B.I’s drug-related suspicions and therefore blocking the police investigation.

I donno. I've learned to not take these articles at face value and try to look at the source material. Looking at the original article from EDaily, both titles say the same thing (him "admitting" to the "suspicions") but the body of the article says nothing about it. (disclaimer: Google Translate) Looks like we'll have to wait for other sources to verify the statement. If it is true, then I'm more interested in how it will affect the investigation on YG and his "intimidation" case - obstruction of justice, is it not?

UPDATE: It seems a number of news outlets are leading their stories with the same headlines ( Seoul.co.kr, Newsis). The gist of the articles is that there's partial acknowledgement of some of the suspicions (but not all), though what is being admitted to is not really clear (the Newsis article claims to have received info from a Police official). In any case, the fact that he is now considered a suspect indicates that his legal position is now in a much more delicate situation.

It could be true but for something this serious, it's better to wait for the official statements from the police once they have something clear to say.

I'm afraid the next time police released the official statement regarding Hanbin/YG drugs case, it'll be September, 17th 2020.

I'm really sorry for my bad jokes but their slow pace "investigation" irked me to the bone :sejeongcry:

Not to defend him or any other person that has been investigated but I have found that if an outlet says they admitted something in an investigation it's best to wait.

Why?

Because how could they find that information out unless someone was spying or leaking information.

Well if proven hanbin guilty he really deserve punishment for breaking korean laws. I hope he reflect.

I think chance for him to rejoining ikon is close to impossible at this point. I hope someday he will comeback as solo artist

From the Newsis article (disclaimer: Google-translated)
An official from the police said, "BI was referred to as a reference status, but during the investigation, he acknowledged some charges and switched to suspect status and proceeded with the investigation."

Oh I stand corrected with this one!
The others I've seen hasn't had a representative for the police to say someone admitted it.
Yeah, but your point is correct that we still need to wait for an official statement. I think Newsis is the only one that specifically mentioned this official, but others did not but carried the same title (about admitting). It is possible that only one news site spoke to an official, and the others just copy-pasted.

It's Dispatch, and they named the police agency where the info came from, so it's not looking good for B.I. right now. Next up is YG.
