Ep 2 and 3 thoughts:

Greed truly know no boundary. And peoples when faced with the need to survive, will always choose themselves first instead of others. Of course there are exception, but very few will help others.

Didn't expect the first death to be that girl who TOP's character like. The old men who owe 10 billions won also really annoyed me. He might be one of the few characters I won't shed any tears for his death.

And the plot twist at the end. Player 001 turning out to be Front Man

Ep 4 to 7 thoughts:

Damm more of my favourite characters die such as Semi, Jungbae and Youngmi. I knew that the fish boat captain is fishy af and turn out that my hunch is correct. And damm at the Front Men really fooling Gihun to the end. T.O.P's character die earlier than expected. But there are still plenty of trashes around. Hopefully the rest of the good guys can survive.

Now have to wait for 2025 for the next year

I have now watched all of the episodes, and personally I felt Season 2 leaves a lot to be desired.

I actually felt that it was quite slow at the beginning, but just when I had hoped that it would pick up in terms of its pace, it ended up being slower than I expected throughout the remaining episodes. I could tell there was a lot of detail that the scriptwriter felt that they needed to cover. But none of that seemed to interest me as I was already feeling disengaged despite managing to finish watching it.

I acknowledge there are many capable actors who have been casted in this season. But with only seven episodes in this season, I felt that not all of them had received adequate screen-time or were not believable with their characterisation. Also in my opinion, I didn't feel that the supporting cast was as interesting or were not given stories that seemed to be as interesting as the supporting cast in Season 1. However, I was impressed by some of the performances in this season, namely, Park Sunghoon, who managed to sustain my interest on him.

This season feels incomplete, but that makes sense given that they have already filmed it as Season 2 and Season 3, which will be released next year. I think I would agree with the viewers that this season felt "disappointing" and that that was probably influenced by the heavy promotion of the show, prior to its premiere. So at the very least, I think it would be unfair to brand Season 2 as "awful"; simply, I would think it is just different.

You are correct in that the season being too short ruin the story. It is all because they split the story into Season 2 and 3, to try to milk for more money. Personally I also feel that some of the games are rushed too. And some of the side characters dying before we know their full background story also ruined it. Like I will love to learn more about Youngmi, Semi, and Jungbae. Season 2 ended just as the story is starting to get good.

And outside of the game, Junho and his team are still flopping hard, and their screentime allocation leave a lot to be desired.

I gave Squid Game Season full mark, but for Squid Game 2, not so high.

I've been sick for the past few days, so I had the time to binge this yesterday/today and I just finished it.

When they announced a second season, my first thought was: "WHY?". I think one of the strongest things about Squid Game is the shocking value...that first time watching the games, learning how things work, etc. So, to me, the renewal was unnecessary.

But since it's here i decided to give it a try.

And i must say it was nice. I don't think it comes close to season 1, but i was entertained. I think the season's highlights were games 2 and 3, for sure. Especially the 3rd one. As for characters, I think Park Sunghoon's trans character was definitely my favorite.
The voting war was also interesting.

But i also had many problems with this season:
1) Gyuyoung's character storyline was pointless. Her plotline didn't go anywhere and it was not interesting. Certainly we'll see more of her on 3rd season, but it's the thing i'm the least excited about.

2) Hanjoon character's running in circles the entire season was also kinda boring.

3) It took them ages to start killing off the characters.

4) And I'm ok with a cliffhanger ending, but geez, at least close some storylines.

Overall, i liked it. It was a nice watch.

There was real potential for the story to go somewhere, and yet for some reason it felt like too much of the story was being told to us rather than the story telling itself.

I was getting particularly frustrated with Gihun, especially his repeating of wanting to end the games. Honestly, I felt those scenes were unnecessary. And while I don't believe removing his scenes would have given other actors more screentime, at least if the episodes were shorter it would have saved me minutes.
