The new Star Wars movie is coming out on Dec 20th. The latest trailer just dropped and it was awesome! If there are any Star Wars fans here, have any of you pre-ordered your tickets yet? I plan to order mine next week or early November.

I'm a huge Star Wars fan but the Disney take over has been awful. Solo was a great film but the others haven't been Star Wars enough for me. Regardless, my mum has order us tickets and I want to see how this is going to end.
My favorite character is Anakin and I also love the Skywalker family. I just want to see if they have a happy ending. I also want to know what happens to Finn. Star Wars feels a lot like a Disney film. Since I'm a Disney fan I don't mind, but I just don't want them to do the originals and prequels dirty. I'm still not feeling ok with Palpatine returning.

For me definitely yes, I always loved Luke and was waiting to see him be Jedi Master Luke, not depressed bum Luke... Idk how they can fix that for me tbh. There are many things that bother me with The Last Jedi, the way Leia was handled, the way Snookie was a fake villian(or something) idk just made me lose interest by the end. I'll watch it just to see what they come up with but I definitely am not a fan of the Last Jedi, which I found annoying because I was excited after Force Awakens and I like Rogue One... but The Last Jedi plot coming directly from Force Awakens just made me kinda of annoyed because the whole plot and story they created basically hinges on pretending that what happened in the 6 Skywalker movies didnt really matter as the state of things when Force Awakens starts is much different than when Return of the Jedi ends... that kind of weird plot and character discontinuity(LUKE especially) really ruins things for me who grew up with the original trilogy and prequels lmao

I grew up with the originals and prequels too. My favorite character is Anakin and my favorite movie is Revenge of the Sith. I see how you feel. I think they did Luke wrong as well. There is no way he would've tried to kill his nephew after he stuck by Vader's side. They turned him into a bitter man. It seems like Palpatine is coming back and to me that does a great disservice to Anakin's legacy. I hope Anakin makes an appearance because it wouldn't be fair otherwise. I'm definitely going to see it in theaters because I have to know what happens immediately. I just wanna see it crash and burn. The original trilogy were good movies, but dunno about becoming this obsessed. I mean I understand that. Still this fanbase goes too overboard even compared to other kooky ones. When the prequels happened and they lost their shit, it was more fun than the original trilogy itself! So I wanna see this thing becoming a trainwreck.
The prequels were not enough for this fanbase. They need to get in the same line as Star Trek and Dr Who fans. At least they are more self aware and accept them as is. The Last Jedi was almost it. SW fans still have some hope, but I wanna see it dashed.

I think it's funny how before the sequels, they were saying how terrible and trashy the prequels were. Now that the new ones are out, they're saying the same thing them. I think no matter how it ends, there are going to be fans who are mad. Some are even going to boycott it because of the leaks. I've been in the fandom for years and I know just how vicious and extreme they can be.
My tickets have been pre-ordered! Although it wasn't entirely "fresh," I thought The Force Awakens was a fun movie. The Last Jedi wasn't very good, in my opinion, but I did like Rey and Kylo's dynamic a lot. With J.J. Abrams back to direct The Rise of Skywalker, I'm cautiously optimistic that I'll enjoy most of the movie.

Yeah, fans should just enjoy the good the bad and the ugly. I think the prequels are trash, but I enjoyed watching them almost as much as the originals actually. I just find it funny how extreme some SW gets. This is coming from a Star Trek fan which also has a rabid fanbase.

Hum, thinking a bit harder about it I think both are extreme in different ways. The first new trilogy was well received at the time iand t brought back their fervor to fans. The Last Jedi brought their negative side to the front line (and Disney didn't have a good PR with them as well). Their are reacting a bit more extremely compared to trekkers' reaction to bad string of content. Trekkers are mostly cynical to this crap nowadays.
