Baek Kang-Hyuk (Ju Ji-Hoon) is a genius trauma surgeon who has performed surgeries in conflict zones around the world. He is confident in his abilities and has a bulldozer like personality when he thinks he is doing the right thing. He begins to work at a university hospital and leads the severe trauma team there. The severe trauma team is a double edged sword for the university hospital. This is because as the severe trauma team saves more patients, the hospital goes further in in the red financially. Besides Baek Kang-Hyuk, the severe trauma team consists of Yang Jae-Won (Choo Yeong-Woo), Nurse Cheon Jang-Mi (Ha-Young) and anesthesiologist resident Park Gyeong-Won (Jeong Jae-Kwang). Yang Jae-Won belonged to the proctological surgery department that is led by Professor Han Yu-Rim (Yoon Kyung-Ho), but Yang Jae-Won was scouted by Baek Kang-Hyuk and joined his team. Yang Jae-Won becomes Baek Kang-Hyuk’s first pupil. Baek Kang-Hyuk turns the severe trauma team from a nominal existence to a team that actually goes out into the field and saves lives.

Personally this is one of the drama that I been anticipating since I saw the teaser for it. Male lead give off the aura of Dr Kim from Romantic Dr Kim Series based on the teaser video. Those who watched Romantic Dr Kim Season 1 to 3 will know what I am talking about. He seem to have the same vision as Dr Kim. And funny enough, both of them work in trauma centre (Dr Kim getting it in Season 3).

What an amazing 1st episode already! Dr Baek is a doctor I will willingly work under. He is so full of charisma. I love how he call out all those other doctors at the scene who is filled with useless ego.


Love the nickname he have for the doctor and the nurse already. Anus and Gangster. Lmao.

The head of General Surgery and that anesthesiologist is piece of trash. I love how Dr Baek is able to keep outwitting the head of General Surgery with his words. And yes degree mean nothing. At the end of the day, your real skill count in the operating room.

In almost every medical dramas that I watched, the issue of expenses often crop up. But surely saving life matter more? Yes, money are needed to run a hospital, but think of other ways to raise the funds instead of those budget cuts.

And glad that we can get to know more of Doctor Baek.

But their team surely need more doctors.
