All for TWICE doing amazing because ofc they're one of my two ult groups, but even according to Pepper's chart, they're still on 6.4 million sales(Gaon for KRN releases + Oricon for JPN releases).

The source is pretty questionable...

Not really, this was reported on Korean news this morning I think. Also in regards to Peppers charts no disrespect to them but they are not accurate. She only includes Japanese sales figures from Oricon even tho the known Billboard sales numbers are a lot highers and further the unknown(anything outside of top 50) are even higher.

Those numbers quite literally eliminate hundreds of thousands of sales. Twice passed 4m in Korea I think today or yesterday and the number in Japan has been over 3m for a while.

The only thing I would question about the wording of the Tweet is it makes it seem like 7.5m in pure sales in Korea is Gaon alone which could be confused by some people....I think it should say Twice pass 7.5m life time sales for clarity.

Korean media isn't all that reliable either. From what I've seen Pepper has been doing a very good job of keeping track of sales, and chosen a good way of doing so, by using the most notable charts of both Korea and Japan. It's true that the "actual" numbers can be higher than what Oricon in particular reports, but in saying so you can also argue that GAON numbers aren't necessarily sales per se, in which case sales would actually be lower.

That can be accurate-but really in this case simply isn't. We're talking about albums that have been through 10's of monthly Gaon updates-any unwanted and unsold stock would have(in some cases has been) sent back and the Gaon number would be adjusted. Further many of Twice albums continue to ship more and more copies each months, some as far as years old appearing routinely in the top 20-10 on Gaon this year.
Yeah that doesn't happen if stock isn't moving. JYPE and Iriver can't just make a store take albums, so if they are still ordering it's fully safe to assume your average business owner isn't throwing money and shelf space away on albums that aren't moving.
The Gaon number for Twice is almost 100% reliable.

As for Peppers charts in regards to Japan, no they are not accurate. It's a simple fact.

The problem is simply ORICON! Oricon does not count it all. We may see that the Korean releases has the same number of sales with the Japanese releases. Both are 360-380K+ in average.

But I doubt it. We can see that JYP is pushing them in the Japanese market because it actually sells more. But we can't actually view it because we are only looking it on Oricon.

Look at Wake Me Up, it had already passed double platinum certification. Which means it already had shipped 500K+ sales

Yall do know Billboard only gives an extra around 250,000 right. 🤡

Poor Peppah. People learn about sales two weeks ago and become experts when they can't even name ten japan artist either. Tragic

That is essentially another single right there. It's odd to me that it's never included in Twice's overall sales.

What are the BB figures vs. Oricon, out of interest?
