Update: ADOR Responds ; NewJeans “Ditto” MV Director Renounces All Future Collaboration With ADOR Following Management Change

On September 2, 2024, fans realized that a YouTube channel that was instrumental toNewJeans‘ “Ditto” conceptual world had been tampered with. All of the videos on the channel named “Ban Heesoo” were deleted.

Ban Heesoo was a character from the “Ditto” conceptual world meant to represent the girls’ fandom, Bunnies. The YouTube channel Ban Heesoo had contained short videos of the girls during the filming for “Ditto,” along with posts written from Ban Heesoo’s perspective.



As the channel’s videos were erased, Director Shin Woo Seok, who heads Dolphiners Films, posted an announcement on his personal Instagram. He claimed that due to the change in management, Dolphiners Films will not be able to work with ADOR any more. He expressed how sorry he felt that he would not be able to finish nor publish some planned projects with the NewJeans girls.

I think that ADOR’s policies have changed along with the new management. ADOR asked us to delete the videos and channel that Dolphiners Films have worked on and uploaded relating to NewJeans’ “Ditto” MV. We will now be unable to upload all the videos that we originally planned on releasing.

Dolphiners Films have been using the Ban Heesoo YouTube channel as a way to portfolio and archive our works, without a single cent of profit. The videos and channel were proactively made as we wanted to make something good for fans. Dolphiners Films does not gain any profits at all. But since ADOR has changed their stance on it, as per their request, we will delete everything and we cannot make any video public anymore.

From today on, I think Dolphiners Films will be unable to work with ADOR anymore. We had promised projects between us and the NewJeans’ members, but I’m sorry we cannot fulfil those anymore. I’m also sorry to the staff who worked late nights for months, and more than anything, towards the waiting fans.

I honestly don’t see this as that bad of a tragedy? There’s millions of other MV directors out there, and I guess Cool With You and maybe ETA were good music videos but I feel like their other MV’s were more iconic.

I also don’t like that manipulation tactic wording “we made a promise between us and the New Jeans members”.

Girl, you've probably barely met them? We all know MHJ does all the work and I doubt New Jeans is allowed to have enough creative liberty to personally request a director or anything.

Your promise and contract was between yourselves and Ador/MHJ. Not yourselves and the girls themselves. Don’t name drop the girls and drag them into this for extra sympathy points.

Like, call me crazy but this seems reasonable imo?

I think it makes sense that they were hired to film for ador/hybe and therefore ador/Hybe owns the footage that was shot, unless something was written into the contract.

Also, to my understanding I don’t think ETA was 100% a full comeback? It was an advertisement for Apple. Therefore them posting the extra ETA footage isn’t the same as them posting extra MV footage, they are posting content that was paid for by Apple and is probably partially owned by Apple.

Like I understand them being ok with the other non-ETA stuff, but ETA was commissioned/meant for Apple so yea I understand due to copyrights and stuff they can’t post it.

Regarding that update, if they did have a prior agreement in place can’t he just show a copy of the agreement as proof? Just drop the receipts?

He’s talking a lot but I feel like this would all be settled quickly if they just showed the proof that they had permission?

My best guess is maybe it was an agreement between them and MHJ and with her no longer a ceo the agreement is invalid?
