Voice actor/singer Shouta Aoi (Mikaze Ai in Uta no Prince-sama, Rui Kisaragi in King of Prism) has announced that he will live-stream a no-audience concert titled "JOYSOUND presents Aoi Shouta ONLINE LIVE at Nippon Budokan Utaibito" worldwide from Nippon Budokan in Tokyo on March 6, 2021.
The internationally famous sports arena has been used by many well-known foreign artists, such as The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Cheap Trick, Deep Purple, Queen, and The Rolling Stones. Aoi held his first solo concert at the venue in March 2016. To commemorate the fifth anniversary, he had scheduled a concert with an audience in March 2021, but the COVID-19 pandemic made it impossible.
Instead, he has decided to live-stream from the venue a concert consisting only of himself as a vocalist and a pianist accompanying him on the piano. He says, "Due to the effects of the coronavirus, which is becoming more and more rampant, I had to give up the concert because I thought safety was the most important thing..., while I really wanted to see everyone at the venue... However, there is still a place and time where I can sing," and adds, "I don't know how much I can do with my voice, which used to be my weakness but is now my best weapon. I will sing to the best of my ability so that I can push as many people's back as possible."
The online concert will be live-streamed worldwide (North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean, Middle East, Africa) from 18:00 (JST) / 01:00 (PT) on March 6, 2021. Tickets for international viewers are now available here (Payment method is credit card only).
