I heard for a lot of the girls they either don't have companies right now (when did Yujin leave Cube????) or their companies currently don't have any plans or groups for them, so I honestly could see them extending the contracts for a while longer while their companies scramble to find something for them to do. Its like a win-win?

I think this is one of those rare situations where everyone would benefit by keeping the ball rolling and just stay together, especially if most of the members have no company behind them or plans to debut. They should sign exclusive contracts so they just stay as a group once and for all. They have something good here and they are making money overseas so it works out.

I didn't expect it but it make sense if the remaining members' company don't have plan for them or will benefit more if they extend.

Yujin and Chaehyun have no reasons to not extend, as the former left Cube and the latter is already under WakeOne

No plans for Hikaru, Dayeon, Youngeun, Bahi, Xiaoting or because they wouldn't be as successful otherwise

Only 143 Ent seems to want Mashiro and Yeseo back, they better have plans and promote them well then.

It will feel strange to see them as OT7 and Mashiro was an important leader behind the scene. Youngeun would be the new maknae.

yep it's real this time - no further details on how long the extension is for though yet



i'm surprised that they actually were able to come to an agreement on this (i didn't think wakeone cared enough to bother since they have the iland2 gg coming really soon and they will get a standard contract) but it definitely does benefit the companies who didn't have plans - they still get some kep1er money coming in and they have some more time to figure things out

sucks that the girls are being split up but maybe it will allow some of the girls like hiyyih and yujin to get a bit more attention within kep1er's music (they're often at the bottom of line distributions with yeshiro) - 143 has always been incredibly supportive of yeshiro throughout gp999 and during their time in kep1er so i trust that they will get to shine properly in limelight (they fit their concept beautifully + are already close friends with the current members)

Something I’m just a bit confused about:

I couldn’t have sworn I read on Twitter at some point recently that Sorn was talking about how cube didn’t keep the CLC title and the girls were going to have a reunion soon. With the timing of when she said it, I was under the impression that this was going to happen when Yujin left Kepler. (Though Yeeun’s in a group right now so I guess that could cause issues?)

I’ve been under the impression that Yujin hasn’t really been close with the rest of the CLC members since they disbanded. Sorn couldn’t have just been spitting out stuff for clickbait, but IS Sorn really not that close to Yujin anymore if she was promising a reunion without even knowing that Yujin was renewing and would not be available?

I'm not sure any El7z Up comeback is actually happening. It was delayed from February and announced for May and that goalpost has already passed with no update I've seen. Wooah and H1-Key are already confirmed with way more certainty for a mid June comeback so El7z Up doesn't seem likely in the near future. Whatever entanglements Yeeun may have there don't seem very pressing at the moment.

I do remember the other CLC girls mentioning Yujin in their independent contents throughout Kep1er's contract but not in a little while so if there was a falling out it may be fresh?

I think CLC can still wait a little bit to have a reunion. Kep1er is already losing 2 members, I think losing Yujin, their leader, might not helped the extension even if she left Cube. It's not like Kep1er will have 7 years, or even 5, at most 1 or 1.5 year in my opinion.

To think that renewing was possible because the group didn't get as successful as IZONE for example

Yuki is in EL7 UP and Purple Kiss at the same time. Technically also true for Yeoreum but WJSN is just sitting around unfortunately.

Almost every El7z Up members has already done promotions with their original group since El7z Up debut, the only ones who haven't are already disbanded and whatever limbo WJSN is in. They were definitely on non-exclusive contracts.
