Once again I am stealing an online trend :run:

AOA’s miniskirt has been trending online recently (HOW IS IT 10 YEARS OLD I DON’T FEEL THAT OLD :somicry:) and people have been wishing for more hot girl Kpop songs and/or reminiscing of the 2nd/3rd gen Kpop era when we had lots of “hot girl music”

For the record: hot girl songs/hot girl music is just being used to describe music that motivates you and/or makes you feel like a hot girl when you listen to it.

Miniskirt has been trending, but I feel like the best example of this is Gidle’s Queencard:

So, while I’m aware we do also have men on this forum, I’m still asking this question anyway.

What are your motivational “hot girl Kpop songs”?

I would like to throw in Strategy feat Megan Thee Stallion into the mix because who else is the #1 hot girl other than Megan?

I’m throwing good luck into the mix because I feel like almost all of AOA’s discography could fall into this category:

Bad Boy:

And kiss of life because I feel like KIOF is the poster child for hot girl music right now?

This is also a general observation/question I have:
I don’t think we’ll ever get the 2nd gen sexy concept back in Kpop again, but I kinda wonder if this new sort of “sexier girl crush” that’s kind of Y2K-ish concept that has been going on lately is the new equivalent of it? Like, “hot girl music” is the new sexy concept? (But more empowering instead of sexualizing?)

it definitely is imo, along with that "badass girl crush" trend we had for several years thanks to BLACKPINK's popularity

I think a huge part of it is that companies used to really target their girl group marketing to "the male gaze" and stuff that male k-pop fans were enjoying, but then they seemed to realize that female k-pop fans really liked some of these concepts too so they evolved to be less objectifying (like Stellar - their members absolutely hated doing their usual concept and some even spoke out about having trauma from MV filmings) and more empowering (like (G)I-DLE with songs like Queencard, Wife, etc) which brought even more female fans to these groups taking on these concepts
