Why do Korean idols like to drink their water through straws (specially poked through the cap)?

Some of reasons I heard, not sure if it's true or not :

• To keep safe the lipstick they put
• To keep their face facing the audience and the cameras, so they can take better pics instead of having them lift their head
• Easier to drink once you poked through the cap, limited damage when you knock off the bottle

Nothing about the K-pop industry is environmentally friendly whether it's the mass production of albums, the amount of travel done through private jets, endorsing brands which are known to be incredibly wasteful. Plastic straws are the least of their concern,
