On July 4, model Yamada Yu's brother talent Yamada Shintaro updated his Twitter account revealing that he had left his agency and retired from showbiz last year.

Yamada wrote, "By the way, I quit my agency last year, and I've pretty much retired from showbiz. Right now, I'm having fun with my friends lol." When fans expressed their surprise, he responded, "I forgot to make an announcement lol."

Yamada made his modeling debut in the magazine 'MEN’S NON-NO' in 2006. In addition to modeling, he was active as a talent and actor. He gained attention while starring in Fuji TV's variety program 'Quiz! Hexagon II,' then made his singing debut in 2010 in the pop unit Sata Andagi with Matsuoka Takuya and Mori Kohei. He then went on to form the four-piece rock band HighsidE in 2018.
