I didn't realize about Yiren's issue when her vacation was announced... Looks like the situation was bad with Knetz keep hating on her while Cnetz defending and praising her.
But it could be an actual Lunar New Year vacation and also to let things cool down at the knetz side.

If Yiren had bowed (not kneel), maybe the hate wouldn't be so bad. It's like a middle ground, bowing to show respect while still trying to keep own cultural beliefs.
