I hope some of them go on the next Produce if it even happensI hope the girl trainees will be patient and stay. The roadmap should be clear with a new group debuting late 2020/21 since Twice will hit the 7 year mark in 2022 and some members may want different type of activities. JYPE will make sure Itzy and jypngg are established by that time.

I don’t think the big3 will send their top trainees with the longer produce contracts now. If jyp sends their top ones, there’s a good chance they make it and then u lose them for 2.5 years at least.
The produce money sharing is good for small/medium companies but jyp can form their own profitable group. That’s why jyp skipped produce48 with Itzy debuting in 2019.

Miihi is so cute! Whether or not her, Rima and Mako will be in the Nizi Project is still unknown because none of them auditioned for the Nizi Project and the final 20 contestants for the show are all supposed to be from those particular auditions

I'm glad that those Lily rumors leaving JYPE are put to rest.
===
That girl dance line tho! Shinyoung, Minji, Jiayu, & Mako. They are all great dancers. A pleasant reminder of their dance skills
SHINYOUNG [2004/Korean]
MINJI [2004/Korean]
JIAYU [2003/Taiwanese]
MAKO [2001/Japanese]

LurkerI'm still worried about Lily as she's getting older. She would have been great in Itzy with maybe one more trainee and it would have given the group a stronger vocal line. I'm wondering if they're going to try a One Day situation, like 2pm/2am (dance team versus ballad team). Because I don't trust JYP with solo female vocalists.

I don’t think the wait will be as long for a new girl group to come out as it was between Twice’s debut and Itzy’s. I see a new girl group potentially debuting in 2021/2022 when Twice’s contract runs up in case any members decide to not renew (touchy subject I know - but it’s relevant to my point) and suppose that IS the case, they’ll have a big (diverse?) group to fall back on and hopefully they’ll achieve similar if not more success than Twice. This might explain why some of the trainees who’ve been around longer are staying in JYP because they know their chances of making it are higher due to experience, loyalty, patience etc. as seen with Jihyo, Bang Chan & Chaeryeong

Would u prefer a 2pm/2am setup as opposed to a single large group? I had believed the next JYP girl group would be a larger one modeled after Twice. A mainstream group to go along with the more alternative Itzy.

My ideal lineup:
Lily M.
Haewon.
Hayul (hope she hasn’t left.)
Jiayu.
Yunjin.
Shinyoung.
Rima.
Miihi.
Yuna.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they went with a 9 membered lineup again. If Hayul has left I’ll replace her with Minji. Wonder what happened to Yeonkyung? She must’ve left I guess

I had similar thoughts.
- It seems there is a mass exodus of trainees whenever a group forms (post sixteen) or when future Itzy (with Somi) started training together.
- Besides Hayul, Park Sieun the idol/actor trainee was missing from this showcase also. She's had a few recent acting gigs so maybe she just had other commitments.
- Almost all the current trainees are quite young and still in school. I would imagine they would start getting anxious if they were older and had to make the decision to continue pursuing idol career or move on to civilian life/go to college.
- I think it's worth it for the trainees to stick it out and see what happens with the launch of the new group. These days the competition is so tough for new girl groups. Even those like GWSN that are backed by big money (kakao) have a hard time gaining traction in the market despite being well funded and having good production for their music. Being a part of a JYP group pretty much assures some measure of success. I guess the trainees have to weigh taking the chance to make the next JYP group or moving on to a smaller company to debut earlier but then facing a tougher path towards success.

Jyp will debut a group BEFORE twices contracts end, not after. And ideally a decent amount before. If even a couple members of twice decide they've made enough money to retire then the whole group takes a big hit and the longevity gets nuked. Jessica and sulli leaving snsd and fx basically destroyed SMs GG empire. Jyp is good at not only learning from their own mistakes but the mistakes of others. Twice currently is the big player in jyp, if twice were gone jyp wouldnt be doing impressively anymore. So what is the best risk averse thing to do from their pov? To debut a new NGG potential large sized group after twices contract renewals come up, or before? Worst case scenario that twice doesnt last past 7 years, you always want to plan so that you are safe in the worst case. So ideally a new group would debut a year before twices contracts end, giving them time to build up popularity. That way if twice goes away, the companies profits dont divebomb. The last thing you ever want is negative profit growth year over year. Its also why jyp is using all their profits to aggressively make new groups, they know that they're super vulnerable with just twice pulling the slack so they want to diversify into as many groups as possible for future growth.
So if twices contracts end 2nd half of 2022, then imo the best time to debut a new group is april 2021, right after izone disbands

As long as Jiayu doesn’t leave I’m happy. I’ve been waiting for her since 2017 along with Itzy’s Yuna and one of them managed to debut, now I just need to see my other girl achieve her dreams

I feel like this is a perfect lineup if JYP wants to create a group with a similar format to Twice. There's a strong foreign line, strong visuals & all of them are talented.
Jihyo - Lily M.
Nayeon - Hayul.
Mina - Jiayu.
Momo - Shinyoung.
Sana - Miihi.
Chaeyoung - Yunjin.
Dahyun - Yuna.
Jungyeon - Haewon.
Tzuyu - Rima.

Turns out Hayul was an MC for the showcase and didn't perform because she was injured.

So basically all the notable trainees are still around. Which account had the injury info?

It was on DC Inside. I saw a couple of posts asking about Hayul and if she'd left/why she wasn't performing and numerous accounts said she was the MC and didn't perform due to injury. She was the MC in 2018's showcase so I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.So basically all the notable trainees are still around. Which account had the injury info?
