[뉴스엔=이민지 기자] BLACKPINK, as a complete group, will continue their journey with YG Entertainment.
On December 6th, YG Entertainment officially announced, “After careful discussions, we have signed an exclusive contract for group activities with BLACKPINK based on deep trust.”
BLACKPINK plans to repay the love of fans worldwide with activities befitting their global stature, including the release of a new album and a massive world tour, supported fully by YG.
YANG HYUN SUK, the executive producer of YG Entertainment, expressed his happiness about continuing the relationship with BLACKPINK, stating, “We will do our best to ensure BLACKPINK shines even brighter in the global music market as a representative artist of K-POP. We will continue to send unwavering support and trust in their endeavors.”
Since their debut in 2016, BLACKPINK has become one of the world’s top girl groups, with each of their releases being a hit. They have made monumental strides in K-POP history, including becoming the first K-pop girl group to achieve double million seller status, topping the US Billboard 200, being the first Asian artists to headline Coachella and Hyde Park, and conducting the largest scale world tour by a Korean female artist. Their influence as global top artists is growing stronger daily, regardless of whether they work as a group or solo.
All four members are leading style icons, influencing not just music but the broader pop culture, and steering the trends of the K-POP industry. Their official YouTube channel has 92.10 million subscribers, ranking first among all artists worldwide.
