The Tight Friendship+Teamwork Between the 12 Members of YG TREASURE… Presents Laughter Through Tricks During a Timing Game
[헤럴드POP=정혜연 기자] YG’s rookie group TREASURE presented fantastic chemistry and fun on par with a variety program, even during their health retreat which sounded boring.
On February 14 at 12 PM, YG Entertainment uploaded episode 5 of ‘TREASURE MAP’ through their official blog and TREASURE’s official YouTube channel.
The daily lives of TREASURE members were shown on the episode, as they have participated in a health retreat to manage their smartphone addictions. The members lived by the rules of living without smartphones, TV, and not eating excessive carbs, as well as having to drink 2 liters of water per day.
Furthermore, the 12 members of TREASURE challenged on walking 10 thousand steps by playing foot volleyball, table tennis, and by taking walks. The eldest and youngest members, CHOI HYUN SUK and SO JUNG HWAN, took a stroll on a pleasant trail located outside the downtown area. SO JUNG HWAN shared his stories during his youth in Iksan, where he played with his friends while catching frogs and tadpoles. CHOI HYUN SUK and SO JUNG HWAN then had a conversation about pet animals while enjoying their cozy stroll.
YOON JAE HYUK, ASAHI, DOYOUNG, PARK JEONG WOO, JIHOON, YOSHI, JUNKYU, and BANG YE DAM played foot volleyball in teams of four. They presented laughter through ‘variety foot volleyball’, rather than focusing on winning. BANG YE DAM seemed to present his amazing skills while the members kept on making mistakes, but made the viewers smile as he was no different from the others. Meanwhile, MASHIHO grabbed the viewers’ attention with his fabulous skills while playing table tennis with HARUTO.
After the exercise was over, the members gathered and checked their pace counters. While the members tried to raise the numbers, SO JUNG HWAN was determined to be last place early on due to an error on his pace counter. Members BANG YE DAM and ASAHI who had the lowest record along with SO JUNG HWAN had to clean the dishes after dinner.
During a game of estimating time without a smartphone, played to observe the withdrawal symptoms of not having a smartphone, JIHOON succeeded and received a ‘5-minute carb voucher’. The members of TREASURE enjoyed their time with laughter even without smartphones, which have become necessities in modern day life.
The staff members prepared a healthy meal for TREASURE, who have resisted the temptation of smartphones and carbs. However, the menus did not include a lot of carbs.
In the end, the 12 members of TREASURE shared their tight friendship through a friendship game of sharing a cup of soda in turn. The members played a timing game while fooling the next member even while having their eyes closed but filled up the cup with soda for SO JUNG HWAN who had the last turn, which showed off the group’s teamwork.
Meanwhile, TREASURE is meeting their fans through contents including ‘TREASURE MAP’, which covers the story of TREASURE’s 12 creators heading towards the subscribers hearts(treasure), in addition to ‘TMI’ which covers the behind stories of TREASURE’s official schedules. ‘TREASURE MAP’ is uploaded every Friday at 12 PM.

On February 15 at 12 PM, YG Entertainment uploaded BANG YE DAM’s cover video through their official blog and TREASURE’s social media channels.
BANG YE DAM covered ‘HONESTY’ by Pink Sweats, an American R&B artist. BANG YE DAM’s unique soulful voice grabbed the listeners’ ears in an instant from the first verse. His unique emotions clear enough to separate his cover from the original song filled up the mic and camera.
Furthermore, BANG YE DAM wrote the Korean lyrics newly added to the flow of the original song himself. He expressed a man’s feelings of wanting to be more cautious towards a woman who wants to confirm his love.
YG put meaning to this by explaining, “BANG YE DAM did not only show off his vocal skills, but also played a huge role in turning the song into a piece of work containing his own identity”.
BANG YE DAM has teased part of the song during the first episode of ‘TMI’, TREASURE’s reality program, after choosing Pink Sweats’ ‘HONESTY’ as the song he recently listened to the most. The fans looked forward to listening to the full version of BANG YE DAM’s ‘HONESTY’, which allowed him to reveal his own cover video.

On February 17 at 12 PM, YG Entertainment uploaded ‘TREASURE EDITORIAL vol.4’, the profile photos of CHOI HYUN SUK, JIHOON, YOSHI, and JUNKYU, through their official blog.
CHOI HYUN SUK is the eldest member of TREASURE and is one of the rappers of the group. He wore an outfit in blue tone which created harmony with his hair color, as well as presenting a charismatic vibe while pulling up his collar.
JIHOON grabbed the viewers’ attention with his turtleneck t-shirt and lifting his face while posing, which presented a sexy mood. The photos showed his different charms compared to his previous profile photos, which gave a cute feeling.
While wearing a fleece jacket that looked warm and comfortable, YOSHI stared at the camera. Meanwhile, his eyes looked fierce. He emitted a strange aura which made the viewers fall for him.
JUNKYU also wore an outfit in blue tone, giving a sense of unity while showing off his handsome visuals. His bright side was emphasized, as he is loved for his whimsical yet pure character.
