I chose this OTP because they ARE the purest and original form of LOVE AND RESPECT. They are what I wanted to have at 10 years old and I feel like everyone can relate to that. Their personalities compliment each other perfectly, a hothead + an airhead = a passionate and fiery love. Through thick and thin, through their biggest challenges, they always found each other. They were destined to be together, set an example for how ALL anime couples should be, and are fucking cute: that is why I think they deserve OTP of the decade. Thank you.

Why: They're epic. Crixus is a roman gladiator content with his life of constant fighting and with no interest in helping Spartacus create a rebellion and then he falls in love with a slave girl called Naevia. Naevia refuses his love at first but then quickly succumbs, however they must keep their relationship a secret because as slaves, their relationship is forbidden. Of course they get found out and as Crixus is more valuable he's beaten and kept whereas Naevia is beaten, has her hair cut and then is sold around to any man that can afford her and then once they have no use for her she's exiled to the mines to die. For Naevia, Crixus joins Spartacus' rebellion, frees her from the mines, deals with her trauma of being repeatedly raped, teaches her to fight and even when she's in the wrong at times he backs her 100% over any man, he defends her with every part of him, he loves her so much, it's just incredible to watch.

I think this couple is iconic. They support each other and respect each other greatly. He tells her that she is the most valuable and she praises his talents. I believe that it is not the kind of love story that would make you want to relate to them..but more so as a love story to be able to connect to them and appreciate their feelings. I also think that the ending depicts the sadness those that go through a loss of their loved ones feel and not something literal and superficial. So I wanted to take this part as a platonic depiction of love and remind you of this couple. I think there are moments and quotes that remained in history and even though you might not relate to them you will still appreciate them. I think it is one of the most famous couples down the history lane.
