I mean they've been continuing the listen stages, dance covers, tik toks, etc just without Soomin. Tsuki's flying back to SK as of today apparently so they still are gearing up for something it seems I'm just worried that Soomin isn't included in that.

I have already started preparing myself for the worst. Usually when Soomin goes AWOL it doesn't lead to good news.

On the flip side, everyone still follows each other on Instagram etc. Hopefully it is just her taking a break before they start debut prep (however I can't see Mystic letting her off to flaunt around for months doing no work while the other girls have to keep training?) Nothing makes much sense right now :/

So Soomin is no longer part of Mystic. She has removed Mystic Rookies from her bio and unfollowed the account and girls. The mystic Rookies account has also unfollowed her and removed all of her pictures from Instagram.

she must of given up on being a idol then...I really don't get why she'd leave otherwise

That's probably why they didn't release any teasers or debut date yet, things happened behing the scene

This is now the third debut that she's walked away from. I don't know what it was that she was searching for but after two companies and three survival shows, it was clear that this wasn't the path she needed/wanted to walk. I find it more surprising that we lost Doyoon and Jimin than Soomin; this was their big break after all. I don't even think she'll debut solo at this point.

Actually 3 companies (Fantagio, Loen/FAVE, Mystic). She probably wouldn't have debuted with FAVE since they were looking for teenagers but this time it was her chance to debut. There was no way Mystic wouldn't debut her since she was one of their longest trainees and probably one of the most popular. It's a shame she left but as long as she's happy that's the most important. I don't think she will solo debut neither... except maybe in a nugu agency where she will release songs from time to time and have a regular job

3rd time already ? I didn't know. So 3 times, that means really something. Like not suited for the concept or idea the label wanted, not a good synergy with members, simply lack of luck or she might given up at this point because Mystic kept delaying the debut, who knows.

Unfortunately, It's very uncommon for trainees to go back once they've gone and I have a feeling they'll move on w 6 given that everyone's been introduced. Though I also wouldn't be opposed to them bringing on another strong lead vocal type to fill in the gap. Personally I'd like for it to be a full equivalent exchange if they did it though, ad for the new girl to also be a long-suffering 90s baby like someone like Koeun or a girl from a disbanded nugu group. That's just a fantasy though.

Omg yes, another main/lead vocalist material to replace Soomin is my wish for Mystic Girls, not because they don't have enough, but ever since i get to know them, i really really want this group to be full of main/lead vocalists. Rookie groups nowadays seem to focus on performance/dance rather than vocals so i hope Mystic Girls along with Purple Kiss can bring a fresh wave of trend where girl groups can flex vocal acrobats and harmony in their own songs.

Welcome! I agree I never thought cuteness would be emphasized given the older members vibe and I didn't want sexiness based on Siyoon's age. I just hope that no cute/sexy concept doesn't equal generic girl crush as I want something a little more subtle. Mystic is the company behind B.E.G though so hopefully I can trust them to take risks. I'm curious what he means by the blue/violet color thing though: sad? elegant? jazzy? there are a lot of different associations with blue and violet.

aaahhh i didn't expect to see an interview with Mystic CEO on allkpop lol but i absolutely love the idea of not emphasizing sexiness and cuteness, though i have no idea what this gg is going to be... the only girlgroup i know that don't use mainstream concepts (sexy/cute/girlcrush/innocent/schoolgirl/teencrush) is DreamCatcher. Excited to see what Mystic has in store for us!
