I honestly feel like i know fuck all about US/Western music. I am more likely to find out about western music through idol covers of the song lol. To be fair, i'm not into pop music in general.
The other day i was at an event and i heard the song below come over the speakers and i recognized it. At first i thought they were playing kpop there, but then i heard the voices and remembered DC covered it, but i never even heard the real version.

I know more kpop than Australian music
Australian music struggle to hit big in the states. I can only name 2 or 3 current artists that are kinda big outside Australia and that's about it.

I never cared or focused on my countries music industry anyway, not that I don't like the songs but I'm not that interested.
So I know more about Kpop industry obviously. I kinda dropped Western music.

Well prior to joining kpop in 2008 I was into cpop and Western music so your backstreet boys, old school usher etc and all that
I'd say I know more about K-pop but recently I've been getting more into music from my country while my interest in K-pop is dwindling

Currently kpop but 80s to 00s definitely American pop.
Years and years ago, it would have easily been my own country's pop music industry, but nowadays, I think I know more about the K-Pop industry. Don't really keep up with newer Western songs.
Also, I'll let this one slide, but don't start abusing the thread tagging system, @hatfelt! That should really be used for organizational purposes...

Kylie Minogue is an icon!
"Disco was released on 6 November 2020, reaching number one in her native Australia and in the UK, where Minogue became the first female solo artist to achieve a number one album in five consecutive decades from the 1980s to the 2020s."She is but she hasn't been active in the music industry for a while iirc
I don't know if you're considering 2020 to be a while ago or not, but regardless, I just wanted to give her a shout-out!

Nah fair enough. That's how out of it I am. My fave song from her is On A Night Like This"Disco was released on 6 November 2020, reaching number one in her native Australia and in the UK, where Minogue became the first female solo artist to achieve a number one album in five consecutive decades from the 1980s to the 2020s."
