I'm trying to create a routine that works! What can you recommend for someone who has oily skin like me?
Routine:
1. I double cleanse with Innisfree Volcanic Pore Cleansing Foam + CosRX Good Morning Gel cleanser.
2. I pat my skin dry with a paper towel to avoid germs.
3. I use Klairs Supple Preparation Toner, lightly tapping on my skin. Let it set for at least 5 minutes.
4. I used to apply a Green Tea Seed Serum from Innisfree, but I removed because I feel it's making my skin oilier than before.
5. Moisturize with Celeteque Oil-Free Moisturizer.
That's it for my routine. I know I'm missing a sunblock which is a regular for most but I don't normally go out so I don't put it on. Also I plan to use an Aztec Clay Mask once a week. Sometimes I use the Nature Republic Aloe Vera mist spray on my face when it's hot outside. That's it!

If only I were blessed with clear skin I wouldn't have to bother with all these steps

Do we have the worst skin here in Asia? Is it the weather? food? genetics? We generally view Koreans and Japanese tend to have clearer skin.

I have really dry skin, so my specific routine probably won't help you much, but I used to deal with a lot of stress acne, and I absolutely adore the COSRX snail mucin essence. It completely healed any acne scarring I had. If getting oily gives you zits, I'd for sure recommend it.

That is why I enjoy forums, I get my daily dose of tea! Maybe this will help me LOL

Thank you! Will consider this one. You use this after the toner step right? Before the moisturizer?

yes ma'am. In general, you want to layer products you're leaving on your face from least to most viscosity. Essences I think are marketed as lighter serums, but it's basically the same thing. That is why I enjoy forums, I get my daily dose of tea! Maybe this will help me LOL

I use a super basic face wash for everyday cleansing and micellar water to remove makeup.
Once or twice a week I exfoliate and use a facemask.
I also put on my moisturiser everyday, I use Clinique Moisture Surge, it's so good since I started using it I never have dry skin.

Thanks for the tips! I've been hearing a lot about micellar water. Is it only used to remove makeup? Is it like a cleanser too?

It can be used as a cleanser too! It really helps get all the gunk out that gets trapped in your pores.

I have oily skin with some dry areas. Products I use:
1. Micellar water
2. Rose Water
3. Seba Med cleansing bar with lecithin and panthenol
4. L'Oreal Koalin Gel
5. Some shit with neem in it
6. Drugstore masks (clay, honey, algae, hydrating)
7. Snail extract face mask (will be switching out with the Krauterhof Snail one once I finish it)
8. Homemade Aloe Vera Gel (my poor plant)
9. Panthenol cream
10. Nivea Cream (the European one) / I've tried others but I like this one the best. What works, works.
11. Avene sunscreen spf 50+ (face)
12. Eucerin sunscreen spf 50+ (body)
Tip for the aloe vera gel: if you can't be bothered to make it on your own, be sure to use a legit one. If it has shit like alcohol, dye, fragrance, menthol, etc. then it's fake. Don't even bother with that stuff.
Really want to introduce vit c and some niacinamide now 'cus I've finally found a routine that works for me.

I applaud you for creating your own Aloe vera gel! That's dedication. Is Nature Republic's Aloe Vera not ok enough for you? I use it's mist and gel before going to sleep.
Does the face sunscreen feel less oily? I think my aversion to using sunscreen if because I hate that it adds another layer of oil into my already oily face.
Thank you for sharing your routine!

My siblings who also were blessed to have their dermatologist visits paid for by my parents were also prescribed a BPC. It worked for them and their severe acne were gone after the sessions. I wonder if I have to do the same. I don't have severe acne but I want smaller pores!
Is this the CosRX one? The salicylic cleanser?

I already had the plants, since my mom is a plant hoarder, so it was definitely the cheaper option for me. Directly from the plant is the best way to get the most out of the aloe vera. Customs here are quite high for me so if I find a local European alternative I usually try that first. Tho I've been seeing some korean brand imports, mostly face masks. Hada Labo products too.I applaud you for creating your own Aloe vera gel! That's dedication. Is Nature Republic's Aloe Vera not ok enough for you? I use it's mist and gel before going to sleep.

It does add some oiliness to the skin but that's expected. That said, asian brands carry a lot more matte sunscreen. I've heard nothing but praise for the Nivea Japan one and the Biore UV Perfect Face Milk (Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence too but some with oily skin have noted that it doesn't mix well with makeup). My face tans super easily while the rest burns easily. So if I don't put sunscreen on, my face will get 1 or 2 shades darker than the rest of me. It ain't cute.
I use
1. Perfect Whip cleanser
2. SK-II facial tx essence (this one is expensive but you just need a drop or two and will last a long time)
3. Klairs rich moist soothing cream
4. Biore UV as sunscreen

I had moderate acne that was turning severe so I went to the dermatologist. Honestly better than all the DIY's and korean beauty products i tried.
Don't go to the dermo for enlarged pores unless it's REALLY BAD or you have a bunch of money you can
