Are you a smart shopper? Confident in your retail knowledge? Think you have what it takes to always get the best possible bargain? Well, then challenge yourself in The Value i$ Right, a game that’s loosely inspired by the gameshow of similar name.

The game is divided into three phases.

In the First Phase, there are 4 rounds. In each round, the GM will post an “item” in the thread, to which players have 3 minutes to attempt to estimate its value in the PM. The player(s) who bids the closest to the price without going over gets 20 dollars added to their “net worth”, and the second closest bid without going over gets 10 dollars.

The Second Phase also consists of 5 rounds. Players start the phase with 150 dollars each. In each round, players will be presented with 3 “items” that have similar functions or are within a similar category. They have 4 minutes to attempt to “shop for” the most inexpensive one among the bunch. If they manage to choose the cheapest one, they will only have to pay 10 dollars; the second cheapest will cost them 20 dollars; and 30 dollars for the priciest choice. After 5 rounds, whatever money that is left gets added to their “net worth”.

The Last Phase involves an auction of 5 different “items”. Each player is given $1M to make their bids. Right at the start, the GM will present all 5 of the items in the thread. Players have 10 minutes to strategize before submitting their bids all at once in the PM. Please note, players may not bid more than what they have (i.e. $1M). They may place their bids on 1 or more items, or none at all. Once all bids have been placed, the GM will reveal the winners (i.e. highest bidders) for each item. If there’s a tie, it goes to the players who submitted first. Those who didn’t win the auction will simply get their money back, while the winners will have the bid amount deducted from their $1M. The GM will then also reveal the value of all items. The player with the highest amount of remaining cash plus item value gets $10x(number of players) added to their “net worth”, the next highest gets $10 less, so on and so forth.

Players with the highest total “net worth” by the end of the game win.

Your first answer is final. Edited answer will not count.

Please submit your response in a timely manner. Late submissions may not count, or result in the most adverse outcome.

For uniformity, please use USD only.

Please mainly refer to the retail/original value and not the discounted/on-sale value.

You may find a value at another place that’s different from what the GM has indicated, but please respect that the GM’s answer will be upheld.

Feel free to discuss (or throw other players off) in thread, but play for yourself and do not collab, as this is not a team game.

Have fun and be nice.

All other H+ rules apply.
