You guys understand her?

You might notice on the list that a good chunk are from AAVE. I grew up with most of this slang. As for the rest, I've never really gotten enjoyment out of shaming younger people for being young? If they find this language robust and chic, I don't see the issue. I find "bffr" funny and the emphasis is useful.

I like regional dialects and youth, so I'm pretty biased :christmasblob:

all of them, I still use some of the older "Gen Z" terms too

and seeing the origins of most these words, black people and the ballroom scene are truly the blueprint

The way even Wikipedia got some of these wrong proves how aave has been turned into a stupid "trend". Like gyatt isn't no noun but everyone is using it as a noun now and sounding dumb asf :NayeonDisgust: As a black kid who grew up in a black family, seeing this all go down with everyone else who knows is just sitting here like :hatwhat:

Surprised to see that I know most of these, actually.

Only ones I use with any frequency are "gaslight" and "stan" both of which are not new or unique to gen Z.

Also, I feel like "ate" will always be tied to the meatball video for me?
