you're not in trouble, but i'm removing the "breaking news" prefix from this thread as it does not fitIf the members of NewJeans terminate their contract, for which company should they work ?

Honestly, a good question. I wonder if they could be like IU.

bunch of other companies that I've never may have heard of, a huge chance they'll go solo or become YouTubers

Sony Music Group.

🦋 Karma Butterfly 🦋None of those, preferably. Maybe try joining IU over at EDAM, since they seem to have a genuine care and interest in protecting their artists.

They 100% will not join an already existing company. They will be trying to start their own with MHJ like MHJ wanted to do with Ador in the first place.
If MHJ's noncompete is enforced and MHJ can't start her own company, my tinfoil hat theory is that MHJ will join forces with LSM. He technically has a noncompete too, but he made a loophole by having his company headquarters in another country (I think Singapore) and he has multiple offices in other countries, including South Korea.
I can 100% see MHJ try to break the loophole by having her new HQ somewhere else and marketing NJ's as a "global group".
Whatever their plan is, they seem to already have their plans decided because on twitter people are saying the girls are already telling fans to look forward to all of their new music and activities next year. (They seem to be pretty confident they will win their legal battles with Hybe then if they're already telling people they will be bouncing back with new music quickly in 2025).

NewJeans members have made it quite clear that they only feel comfortable working in a company where Min Heejin is their CEO and has full control over their concepts and direction. No existing company is going to have their CEO step down just for someone new to take over completely, no matter how big those dollar signs are.
If they get a new company, it'll be backed by some super rich investors that have more money than they know what to do with and who don't mind letting her steer the ship alone as long as they get cutsies.

Depending on how friendly she was with everyone at SM, she could do what everyone else has been doing these days and make a sub-company under that 100 group.Yep, this.

If not, like I said I could see her joining forces with LSM.
(On a side note, apparently all Ador employees had to sign a 1yr non compete, so if MHJ was planning on taking her old staff to make a new company she has a 1yr delay.)
One thing i’m just genuinely confused about though is how NJ is promising releasing all this new music in 2025 so soon with all of these legal battles going on. I don’t think they can release new music while battling a contract with their old company, right?
