...will another kpop group DOMINATE the industry as BTS is?
Many kpop groups (boys and girls) have had success, some drastically more so than others, but never has a group been the top for all categories at the same time as BTS is.
Physical Success? Record breakers and continued increase, needing only a single album to hit million markers (MOTS7 is close to out selling MOTSP initial sales in pre-orders alone, +3.2m) and haveing old albums outselling other successful groups (all of LY sold +300k in 2019 as an example).
Digitial Success? Spring Day alone would rank them very high (being the longest charting idol song on Melon), but MULTIPLE songs of theirs have charting with frequent #1 Peaks and longevity, including almost all of their b-sides.
Critical Success? Frequently praised by the KMA's and nominated for (as well as winning) Song of the Year, Pop Song of the Year, and Musician of the Year (not all at once).
Brand Recognition? It's not a secret BTS built BH to be the most successful company within the last few years, but their expansion into the very popular (and profitable) BT21 line and story based media such as games and comics have only furthered BTS's dominance. Number 1 group on ranking charts for 2019 alone, constant mention by industry insiders as the most influential group (including lists that reference companies, not groups), and Korea's It Boy Park Jimin reigning supreme over all other male idols.
Conceptual/Artistic Success? BTS's narrative driven releases have shaped the future of Kpop, ranging from other groups attempting trilogy releases and deeper storylines with the continuity of said stories. And while BTS are not the first/only group to be based in a heavier more hip-hope style of music, to have artistic influence/control over their music, and a focus on performance-based skills, the influx of rookie groups (and older ones) attempting these things after BTS's success with it is abundant and clear.
Pioneering Kpop? Never before has a group achieved such recognition internationally (except maybe Psy lol), expanding the world's awareness of the Korean music industry and pushing the Korean MI to new heights in terms of revenue and acclaim (a few examples...)
- only kpop group awarded best duo/group at the BMA's and AMA's (+3 year Top Social Artist)
- only kpop group to hold a Worldwide Stadium Tour
- youngest recipients of the Order of Cultural Merit
BTS isn't hoping off their pedestal anytime this year (and I highly doubt they will next year either), but what more records could they break? Only time will tell
(Note: Didn't think I did a good job of posing a question, but thanks lol [edit: thread move])

I doubt it but everyone thought Big Bang was the biggest kpop would ever get a few years ago so it’s hard to predict. But tbh, I can see the kpop hype dying down a few years later so it is possible that BTS would be the peak of kpop
