From the words they used, it's very likely they were fired...

My take is Cube made a mistake, they debuted too much members and wanted to "rebrand" the group after their summer schedule. So they decided to kick out Huiyeon and Jian, who are the least popular members in my opinion.

The core members are Juhyeon, Sangah, Nayoung and Chowon, here you got all main vocalists, main dancers and the leaders. Yujeong and Hina are the cute members and fans like them. Hina would also be very helpful for Japanese promotions and for Japanese fans of course.

Is it a good decision ? Business wise, yes, and 6 members is better. However it's cruel, harsh, they were the youngest members. That's Cube's fault from the very beginning. Huiyeon and Jian did their best but I think like they needed more time to learn and improve. I hope they can find success and happiness. Give them a lot of support they'll need it after this decision.

Cube is...not the best company.

I was enjoying the group casually and neither member was on my radar, so it's not really affecting me. But, gotta feel bad for them ofc... However, core of the group is still really solid.

Pretty much classic kpop mistakes all around. Seeing Soojin bullying news happened in march 2021. They rush lightsum into debut a few months later. Company seems to be regretting it now.

She even wrote a letter in English for international fans. It looks like she's not giving up being an idol or a celebrity. She's still very young so everything is possible.

As sad as I am for them, they could at least experience many things during their Lightsum era. They went overseas, Austria, KCON, filmed their reality show. There's memories and stories to tell.
