EVENT+ Love Quest: Story

INTRO

Standing outside the 10th grade history classroom, you desperately try to catch your breath and make yourself look presentable. It was just your luck to be late on your first day of school, and as the new kid at that. To make matters even worse, you had grabbed a piece of toast on your way out of the house, just like in anime, but your attempt at playing the protagonist had failed spectacularly when you got attacked by a horde of pigeons who wanted it for themselves. You could only hope the day wouldn’t get any worse.

With that thought in mind, you suck in a deep breath and walk into the classroom, head held high. The teacher frowns a little at your tardiness, but doesn’t mention it, instead introducing you in a bored tone. As she does, you survey the class, taking in all the students. None of them seem the least bit interested in you aside from brief, cursory glances. Well, that’s fair enough, as you don’t find yourself interested in any of them…that is, until your eyes land on two individuals.

One is a pale, brunette boy whose face you can’t quite make out, apart from the edge of his glasses, due to the way his long bangs obscure the majority of his face. And maybe that’s on purpose, as from the way he’s hunched in on himself, he seems to be trying very hard to not be noticed. The other individual who catches your attention is a tan blonde girl, and when your eyes land on her, you swear you momentarily forget to breathe from the sight of her beauty. This girl, unlike the boy, is making no attempts at hiding. She has her legs propped up on her desk and is painting away at her nails, clearly unimpressed with everything happening around her.

Funnily enough, as the teacher tells you to sit wherever you want, you notice that the seats by those two are the only ones that are free. Talk about a coincidence…or maybe it’s destiny?

So then, who will you pick?

The girl?

Name: Eden Murphy
Age: 16
Description: The resident "ice princess," she's one of the most popular girls at school thanks to her beauty, but with a permanent frown on her face and a cold gaze, she is seen as unapproachable by most of her peers.

Or the boy?

Name: Alexander "Alex" Glass
Age: 15
Description: A shy, quiet boy who is skilled at the piano. He doesn't seem to have many friends. Rather, he makes an easy target for bullies due to being a pushover, thus, he spends most of his time hiding out in the empty music room.

I don't think i've ever seen an otome game where the characters try to kill you since Hatoful Boyfriend

(I was doing to say maybe Diabolik Lovers as well but I don't actually think they ever try to unalive the MC in that unless turning you into a vampire counts?)

It's not that uncommon, honestly—I've played quite a few in just the last few years where that is on the table. It's not like that's the main focus of the game, but a lot of otome games these days has thriller/suspense/mystery-like elements to them that go with the overall story, so one or more of the love interests usually have certain scenarios where they might try to kill the heroine.
