I feel like "it's not that serious" will piss him off too though :yooheadache:
Yeah I think that would be -5 but I should have just stayed true to myself and choose 1. Now I feel like I betrayed myself to try and get on his good side even though I don’t want to :JudgyDubu:

The way I went from thinking [redacted] is the worst option to thinking it's the best one over the course of the day should be studied :squirtlechristmas:
But that will only work if Haru thinks like me and sice I won her quiz like twice now there is a chance- :think:

PART 7

Eden

You step in front of Eden and tell the group to go away. -5 points

They scoff at you, but do so, but not before tossing out a snide remark about “The ice queen having her own bodyguard.”

You chance a glance over at Eden. Her face is carefully blank as she steps off the skateboard and says, “You know what, let’s call it a day.”

“Oh…” You’re unable to hide your disappointment. “Are you sure?”

She simply nods, shoving the skateboard she had been using in your arms as she gives a stiff goodbye.
````````````````````````````````````
You opt to do nothing, letting Eden dictate how the situation goes. +5 points
Huffing, she crosses her arms and snaps at them, “And what about it?”
One of the members, a girl probably a year younger than you two, quips, “It’s weird to see you flailing around on that thing when you’re normally so poised.”
Another group member adds, “Yeah, plus, I didn’t know you had any interest in skateboarding. I would’ve pictured you doing something…I don’t know, girly like ice skating.”
Eden’s scowl deepens as she hisses out, “I am NOT flailing.” Her tone is bitter as she continues, “Anyway, there’s a lot you guys don’t know about me.”
There is a moment of awkward silence before one of them shrugs and says, “Yeah, I guess there isn’t…” Apparently having nothing more to say, the group takes their leave.
Eden continues to frown in their direction, even after they’re gone, brows furrowed in confusion, as if she’s not quite sure what to make of the encounter. Humming thoughtfully, you say, “I think that went well.”
She shoots you an incredulous look, to which you grin sheepishly and clarify, “They see now that you’re not some mythical ice queen, but a normal girl. It’s a start.” Tilting your head, you ask, “That is what you wanted, right? For them to stop viewing you like that?”
She hesitates, but nods, face flushed slightly in embarrassment. You grin at her and say, “Well then, I’m glad!”
She grumbles under her breath, but can’t disagree with you. “I suppose you have a point…But I think you owe me a meal for leaving me to deal with that.”
You cringe a little at the hit your wallet is going to take, but you can’t bring yourself to feel upset about it. Laughing airily, you say, “Very well, then.”
````````````````````````````````````````````
Eden scowls at the group, defenses immediately coming up, but you decide to take a gamble and say, “You guys should join us.” +10 points

Both Eden and the group send you incredulous stares, but you simply smile and add, “Don’t suppose any of you know how to skateboard?”

The group hesitates, eyeing Eden warily. One of them says, “I doubt Miss ice queen would like that.”

Eden bristles at the nickname and snaps, “Don’t put words in my mouth!” She huffs, looking away as she adds, “I don’t care if you guys join us.”

Thus, somehow, what started out as a simple skateboarding lesson somehow turned into an awkward group hangout thanks to your brilliant idea. Eden does her best to ignore them and focus on you. However, at one point, one of the members of the group, a girl probably a year younger than you two, gives her a tip on how to stay balanced. Eden mumbles out a thanks, and some of her tension seems to fade away, that is, until the girl comments, “It’s weird to see you flailing around on that thing when you’re normally so poised.”

Another group member adds, “Yeah, plus, I didn’t know you had any interest in skateboarding. I would’ve pictured you doing something…I don’t know, girly like ice skating.”
Eden’s scowl returns full force as she hisses out, “I am NOT flailing.” Her tone is bitter as she continues, “Anyway, there’s a lot you guys don’t know about me.”

Not wanting the mood to go downhill, you cheerfully put in your own two cents, saying, “Well, there will be time for all of us to get to know more about each other.” It’s incredibly unsubtle, but someone’s gotta take initiative.

The group shares a few glances before one of them shrugs and says, “Sure, we’d be down to hangout again.” The rest nod in agreement.

Eden looks rather flustered at this development, but not to be outdone, she too nods along, “That’s fine, I guess…”

Apparently, this signals the end of the impromptu hangout, as everyone starts to head home, leaving only you and Eden left. She turns to you, brows furrowed and arms crossed. You’re fully expecting to get chewed out, which is why you’re surprised when instead, she sighs and says, “Um, thanks…” There is a faint dusting of pink on her cheeks, and she’s staring off to the side rather than right at you, embarrassment clear.

You don’t need to ask what she’s thanking you for, you already know, so you just smile at her and nod, glad that maybe, just maybe this would be the start of her making friends.

Alex
Shooting Alex a pointed look, you say, “Cool it, it’s not that serious.” -5 points

He scowls at you and opens his mouth to reply, but before he can, you hear your mom calling for your sister. As she darts out of the room, waving bye to Alex on her way out, Alex also stands to leave, mumbling, “I should go.”

You call, “Are you sure?” out after him, but he continues on his way out with sparing you a second glance.
``````````````````````````````
“You don’t have to be so mean about it.” Your wording is casual, but the warning edge in your voice is clear. +5 points
He frowns at you and opens his mouth to respond, but before he can, you hear your mom calling for your sister.
Pouting at having to leave, your sister stands up. Despite her disappointment, there is determination in her little voice as she declares to Alex, “I’ll do better next time!”
Alex shifts uncomfortably, fiddling with his bangs as he mumbles, “Uh, okay…um, you-you did good.” Your sister beams at the praise, and there’s a bounce in her steps as she darts out of your room.
As soon as she is gone, Alex snaps, “I wasn’t being mean.”
You scoff, incredulous, “Uh, hello? ‘Are you even trying?’ How is that not mean?”
He huffs and looks away from you, mumbling, “Well, that’s how I was taught to play the piano.”
Frankly, that explained a lot about him. “And did you like it?”
He hesitated before answering, “Well, no, but it was effective.”
Effective or not, you’d rather your sister not develop whatever unresolved trauma Alex clearly had. But you wisely keep that thought to yourself. Instead, you say, “Anyway, next time…just try to keep the snide comments to yourself.”
He grimaces, “Maybe there shouldn’t be a next time.”
You shake your head, hands on your hips. “No way, my sister’s looking forward to this, so I guess you’re stuck.” Then you grin, “Look on the bright side, this means you get to spend more time with me.” You will your face to not heat up at what you hope is a subtle flirting. You don’t know if he realizes it’s supposed to be flirting, but judging by the faint flush of his cheeks, you’re leaning towards yes.
``````````````````````
Shooting Alex a pointed look, you say, “Maybe a gentler approach would be better.” +10 points
It’s obvious from your tone that it’s not a suggestion, but an order. He opens his mouth to respond, but before he can, you hear your mom calling for your sister.

Pouting at having to leave, your sister stands up. Despite her disappointment, there is determination in her little voice as she declares to Alex, “I’ll do better next time!”
Alex shifts uncomfortably, fiddling with his bangs as he mumbles, “Uh, okay…um, you-you did good.” Your sister beams at the praise, and there’s a bounce in her steps as she darts out of your room.

As soon as she’s gone, you shake your head and wag your finger in Alex’s face. “I give your teaching skills a D.” He smacks your finger away in annoyance, and you adopt a more serious tone as you add, “But seriously, don’t ever talk to my sister like that again.”

Alex huffs, avoiding your eyes as he grumbles, “I wasn’t being THAT mean.”

You give him an incredulous look, “Uh, hello, ‘are you even trying?’ were you trying to make her cry?”

He snaps back, “If she cries because of that, she’s going to have it tough in the real world.”

“Aaand now you’re sounding like a cynical old man.”

“I never cried over something like that at her age,” is what he says, but you sense the underlying meaning is ‘I was never allowed to cry over something like that at her age.’ After a moment, he adds, “Besides, that’s how I was taught to play the piano.”

Frankly, that explained a lot about him. “And did you like it?”

He hesitated before answering, “Well, no, but it was effective.”

You resist the urge to scoff at that. Sure, it was effective, as evidenced by his amazing piano skills, but was the point if he didn’t get any enjoyment from it? You can sense that this is approaching dangerous territory, but you still feel the need to point out, “You yourself said you don’t even like the piano that much.”

“That’s not why.” He doesn’t offer any further explanation, just stares stubbornly out the window.

Realizing this area of conversation was finished and trying to push it wouldn’t go anywhere, you conclude, “Anyway, next time…just try to keep the snide comments to yourself.”
He grimaces, “Maybe there shouldn’t be a next time.”

You shake your head, hands on your hips. “No way, my sister’s looking forward to this, so I guess you’re stuck.” Then, in an attempt to lighten the mood, you add, “Anyway, my sister seems to have taken quite a liking to you. Guess I have competition now.”

At that, Alex finally looks at you, confusion evident as he repeats, “Competition?”

“That’s right. What am I to do if you start liking her more than me!” Despite your playful tone, you feel mortified as soon as the words leave your mouth and busy yourself with cleaning up the used art supplies. Alex doesn’t say anything, but you can feel his eyes on you the whole time.

PART 8 OPTIONS

Somehow, on a cloudy, rainy afternoon, you found yourself inside a large house sitting at a long dinner table, tension in the air thick enough to be cut with one of the fancy knives next to you. It very much felt like you were in a horror movie.

Really, it was rather unexpected. Eden had come up to you yesterday, and you immediately knew something was wrong when the normally confident girl was unable to meet your eyes. Your suspicion was confirmed when she told you that her parents wanted to meet you.

Well, if the two of you did start dating, you knew you'd have to meet her parents eventually, but not now! You sneak a glance over at Eden, who is shifting uncomfortably in her seat, posture stiff as a board. So far the room had been dead silent, and you were starting to wonder if you were going to have to take the risk and start up a conversation.

However, before you can, Eden's mom clears her throat and says, "So...you're the one Eden has been socializing with recently." The way she eyed you up and down made it obvious that she was not happy about this.

Her dad adds, "You know, she came home last week with bruises and scrapes, telling us that they were from falling off a skateboard." He says the word 'skateboard' as if it's blasphemous.

Her mom huffs, "A skateboard of all things! Certainly not a ladylike activity. You seem to be proving to be a terrible influence on our daughter. "

Eden sinks down a little in her chair at her parents' words, but remains silent. You decide to

1. Defend yourself
2. Defend her
3. Call them out
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Somehow, on a rainy afternoon, you found yourself wandering around Alex's house, curiously inspecting the place as you waited for him to retrieve art supplies from his room. All in all, it was a rather unremarkable house. However, there was one thing that caught your eye, and that was the pristine white grand piano sitting in the middle of the living room.
Cautiously inching closer to the piano, you eye it in fascination. It was quite gorgeous, and clearly very expensive...you were a bit worried to even breathe too hard on it. Deciding to leave before you accidentally damage it, you turn around to go find Alex, only to jerk back in shock when you come face-to-face with a woman. She is equal parts terrifying and beautiful. Cold blue eyes boring into you and long brown hair accentuating her sharp features. You find yourself wondering if she's Alex's mom or his sister. He never mentioned having any siblings, but it was possible.
Your question is immediately answered when Alex walks into the room and drops the art supplies he was holding with a loud clatter. "O-oh, mom...I-I didn't know you were home." He looks anywhere but at her as he stutters out in shock.
His mom turns her piercing gaze onto him, and you find yourself releasing a breath you didn't know you were holding once her eyes are off of you. "You know you're not supposed to be here...are you trying to make me angry?" Her voice cuts through the silence like a blade, and Alex flinches at her harsh tone, mouth opening and closing wordlessly as he struggles to come up with a response.
You decide to
1. Introduce yourself
2. Defend him
3. Excuse yourself
@Events Squad you have until 8PM EST on the 9th~
