Yep, there's been a couple of games with normal cards as a prize such as Flash Game and Codenames, although it's a recent addition to the rewards!

From our wrap-up and updates posted in February (here) the introduction of random +Card RNG in games/activities was announced:

*Starting in March, all games and qualified activities will give out 1 random card via RNG to one of the participants. The star level and edition of the rng’d card will vary depending on various factors.

I hope this clears up any confusion!
