1. Minyoung
In 2014, JYP Entertainment had plans to debut girl group 6MIX. However, because some members left the company, the company was forced to reorganize the debut project. Minyoung finally participated in “Sixteen.” After she was eliminated, she left JYP Entertainment and lost her passion for music. She is now working at an international school, and occasionally participates on YouTube.
2. Jiwon
After her “Sixteen” elimination, Jiwon left JYP Entertainment. In 2017, she participated in another survival show “Idol School” and successfully debuted in sixth place. Now she is an active member of fromis_9.
3. Chaeyeon
After getting eliminated in a mission on “Sixteen”, Chaeyeon left JYP Entertainment alone, leaving behind her sister Chaeryeong. In 2017, she reappeared as a trainee for WM Entertainment. In 2018, she participated on “Produce 48” and debuted as the 12th place member of IZONE and was an active member for 2 years and 6 months. She has recently returned to WM Entertainment, and is expected to re-debut again in a new girl group.
4. Eunsuh
After her elimination from “Sixteen”, Eunsuh left JYP Entertainment. In 2017, she joined Jiwon and participated in another survival show “Idol School”. Regretably, she was eliminated. After two painful eliminations, Eunsuh lost all interest in the entertainment circle, and she returned to normal life. However, in 2020, netizens discover Eunsuh is practicing to debut again~
5. Somi
After getting eliminated from “Sixteen”, Somi remained in JYP Entertainment, and she participated on “Produce 101” in 2016 as a JYP trainee. Somi won first place and joined the temporary girl group I.O.I for one year. When I.O.I concluded its activities, many netizens thought Somi would debut in a brand new JYP girl group. Everyone was surprised when Somi left JYP Entertainment and debuted as a solo artist in 2019 under YG’s subsidiary The Black Label.
6. Chaeryeong
In the “Sixteen” finale, JYP announced he would add in 2 more members. Since Chaeryeong was one of the non-eliminated contestants, many thought she would have an advantage in securing one of the final two spots. Unfortunately, Chaeryeong was not chosen. After “Sixteen”, she remained at JYP Entertainment. In 2017, she appeared in another variety show “Stray Kids”. Finally, she debuted as a member of ITZY in 2019, and she has the longest training time among her group members.
7. Natty
During her performance on “Sixteen”, Natty was the target of many netizens who criticized specifically on her looks and personality. After she was eliminated, she left JYP Entertainment in 2017. During the same year, she also participated in another Mnet survival show “Idol School” but she was not able to debut. Later she joined Stone Music as a trainee, and she debuted as a solo artist with Swing Entertainment in 2020.

They were surprisingly successful despite not making the final Twice line up. It's unfortunate that Jiwon didn't make it at all, I liked her from what little I saw of the show. Jiwon being in Fromis comes as a total surprise to me, I didn't know it was the same person! I also think it's really interesting that two Sixteen participants ended up debuting in the Produce series and one in Idol School. Was Sixteen under Mnet too?
i love twice, but i never watched sixteen tbh
i knew somi had been in the show, but i didn't realize someone from fromis_9 had also participated and BOTH chaeyeon and chaeryeong... so this was an interesting read for me lol
thanks for your work, @Vanilla Cupcake!

Some got a lucky break later and some didn't. Still I bet they would not trade the experience of the whole thing. Once in a lifetime this will happen.
I feel bad for Minyoung as she didn't get to debut but hopefully working at international school is a good career for her!
It looks like Chaeryeong is doing really well as a member of ITZY.
Even though Somi's solo has mixed reviews in general, I like all her releases so far.
Thank you for this article!
