Mulan is going to be asian for sure.
If Disney changed that, the Asian community could shout racism or appropriation of culture, which the redheads could not do with Little Mermaid.
People making such a big boohoo out of this is so annoying. Ariel is a fcking fish, her skin color does not matter bc the story is just about a naive girl in love.
If y'all want lore accuracy then make Ariel green skin like in the book, make her feet bleed when she walks and turn into foam when the prince dump her like Hans intended or he's gonna come back and haunt y'all. Maybe even make it gay relationship too since that's allegedly Hans' own unrequited love story with another man...but no, that's not the ""lore accuracy"" y'all focus on but it's that it's a black girl so miss me with this. Disney's Ariel is already an altered reinterpretation of Hans' own work so why can't they change anything else
