A while back I remember seeing a video of her family watching Dita on TV. They seem very proud of her (obviously) .
Well... I can't say for sure. But I think Dita's family is probably already "well-off". Their house looked pretty big. And for Dita to have had all the education of studying in New York etc. I'm sure they have $$$. So the only thing that might have changed is how Dita has become a representative of Indonesia as Kpop idol.

I do remember some pics about her house, it looked pretty big. And not every one can afford to travel to South Korea and spend X years there. Moreover she also studied in New York. So everything hints a wealthy family.

From my experience who used to date someone from Jakarta , technically there is no middle-class there. Your either "rich" or not. the person I dated was in the "rich" category. Family had a maid, big house. my indonesian friend who used to work for sm also rich. probably more money than any idol. some of the idols have said they gone to her family house and are shocked/impressed!

I agree. a lot of kpop foreigners do come from "rich" families. Not all tho. But I think the ones that do agencies do like. It could be cuz of how Korea is such a structural country. always dealing with hierarchy status. guess it just looks better in the public eye if you come from a well-off family. I used to think in kpop variety shows when you see someone act out job interviews etc. when they ask "what does your parents/family do?" was some kind of joke. But they probably do ask that. Remember that one with funny secret number when they did their own kdrama where soodam started a first job? They made a joke about "what does your family do?" And they said "just say your family is rich" And the broke out of character and laughed.
