"The Chase" is on loop for me. I haven't played a song this much since Red Velvet's "Bad Boy".

I could write an essay on The Chase.

As I've mentioned before, I like how the melody in the chorus stays constant, almost boring, while the instrumentals and backing vocals underneath shift around. And the backing vocals slowly build up in chorus 1 and keep building into verse 2 and prechorus 2.
The buildup is unusual and Zimzalabim-like.

If you listen closely to prechorus 2, there are brief moments where the backing vocals are sung between beats. One of those "wait, what was that?" moments that remind me why I got into Kpop.

In the second half of the final chorus (where they're doing the walking-in-a-line move in the MV) they mix the prechorus 1 vocals/harmonization into the chorus. It's all very well done and makes for a great ending.

Yuha seems to be a mix of Irene and Suzy. And Ian has features similar to Karina's.

haha. you're kinda like me. I critique music differently than probably most people. I think most kpop fans have only two modes.
Slow song.. "oh it's boring". Fast song... "oh a banger" 🤭
Me.. I always listening to details here and there. ie. harmonies, beat changes, etc. it makes me appreciate songs more.
I was watching a reaction video and this guy was picking parts of the song and analyzing it. Most reaction videos end up only reacting to the MV and not so much the song 🤭
That's why whenever a new song or cb gets released. I try to listen to the song without the MV cuz it can distract you from the song.

Ahh. someone commented Karina + Irene = Yuha :p
But yeah.. i don't really see much Karina there. I was thinking who else she reminds me of. I do see Suzy. Or maybe Arin of Oh My Girl?
Some also said Ian looks like Karina. I didn't at first.. but now I do recognize she has certain features. Overall tho, I think she doesn't really remind me of anyone unless I'm thinking hard about it.
I guess that's why they made her the center (so I hear). But wait.. can you be a center in a even number group? Lol.
