This honestly makes me pissed. We have mandatory voting in my country, which means that if a politician strays too far in either direction, they almost always lose their chances of being elected. However, I don't see that ever working in the US right now since the politics over there seem to rely too heavily on their bases (rather than the centre & swing voters that the politicians here in Aus do).
I'm just hoping one of those criminal suits sticks and he can somehow be booted from office via impeachment...

There are some technicalities that stop him from being properly prosecuted. A judge he appointed in his 2016 run is one of the main reasons he was even on the ballot this year. Trump will pretty much get off scot free.

If Brazil can kick out two presidents in under a year I think the US should be able to as well
Lock them all up. It's a whole ass mess how politicians (in the loose sense of the word for Trump) are able to avoid jail time while people are still locked up for victimless crimes to this day.

That was one of the main comments for the election. That if you are a felon, you can't vote. It's insane that a felon can run for WHOLE ASS PRESIDENT.

The election race was going to be very undecisive and very polarizing. But here we are, Trump even won if we count individual votes. That says a lot about our society being more and more divided because this is not only in the US but it looks like a worldwide tendency.

So Harris and Democrats really underperformed in every States and Trump however manage to succeed despite what he did, what he said. That's why people are so confused and can't understand what's happening.
