If I left it up to you guys someone could give their cards 10’s and everyone else 1’s and it wouldn’t be fair.

By forcing the scale it prevents this and also forces you to give points to other people.

The way it is worded reads as "don't just pick your favorite." It took a few reads to realize you meant "don't just vote for yourself or friends." I think it's more so "personal reasons."

In games like this we are usually not allowed to vote for ourselves.

If I understood it correctly, we're meant to vote how we would place the cards (including our own) in rank order, from highest (10/10) to lowest (1/10), with each number being used once (4/10, 5/10, etc.)
