And we still have no way of knowing that. Even tho common shareholders are previvalent, it is large possibility that entertainment companies have preffered shareholders, considering that preffered shareholders have money privileges, I would say money privileges > decisions privileged in SK companiesyeah that's true but we all know in the case of YG he's still going to be in the shadows running everything
he just wanted to relinquish public responsibility

something smells suspicious
reasoning behind that particular appointment seems pretty clear and i am curious whether they are expecting more shit to come out
but imagine if it's a genuine promotion that was solely based on the merit. now that would surprise me more than any drug scandal to ever come out from YG

Classic example of the Glass Cliff theory.

The glass cliff is the phenomenon of women in leadership roles, such as executives in the corporate world and female political election candidates, being likelier than men to achieve leadership roles during periods of crisis or downturn, when the chance of failure is highest.

This is the first thing that popped in my mind, she's the only female executive in a company known for its sexism, YG has the biggest male-female salary gap for ent companies but the major men in that company are all sort of screwed up and they are the reason for its downfall , so yeah this is very obviously a glass cliff.
Homegirl was a CFO and is a board director, she's been in this company since 2001, she might as well be his right hand but I understand why they didn't go for an outside force because:
A-The board of directors and major investors seem on the yang brothers side, remember that confidence vote that happened during the burning sun gate where they re-elected yang min suk?
B-Let's say they hired an brilliant manager with an outstanding cv to be the new CEO, drastic measures will be taken because YG shows major managerial flaws and financial red flags, their businesses are flopping and have been on the red for so long they are basically bleeding money. Moonshot and nonagon have been representing a deficit since many years so. Also an outside CEO will be difficult to manipulate because even if the yang brothers are the biggest shareholders but they have 20%, you need to have 51% in order to have the ultimate influence on the decisions, they both officially stepped down from their positions, legally they can participate in the making of strategic or major decisions but they can't interfere in the day to day decision making especially if the ceo shows good results.
This woman knows how YG works by heart and is familiar with its culture so she can work her way around it, major downside is that she's probably close with the yang brothers so they might make her do whatever they want.
I honestly couldn't careless about the artists, they are rich enough to open businesses or build their careers elsewhere if YG ever goes bankrupt, I actually feel for the employees whose jobs are at stake here, a lot of them might be their families' bread winners, have bills to pay might even find themselves in the street if that happens, so I hope this woman comes up with an effective change.

If I'm bad : they already placed their puppet or I'm not that optimistic
If I'm positive : I hope things will get better now

Shes been at YG for 18 years, she was the CFO, she knows their financials and she has to be aware or complicit in the embezzlement and tax evasion. You dont get up to "chief " level of a company without being aware of whats going on and part of the corporate culture. They promoted the CFO because she already knows their financials and their books, shes the perfect puppet for the Yang's to use while they fade into the shadows. And having a woman in the position puts a smiling kind human face on the company that they want to help repair their destroyed reputation. The shareholders clearly have no desire for a major reformist, seeing as they voted to keep YGs brother just a couple months ago, they want someone loyal who wont rock the boat, status quo. If they would've gotten a outside ceo then we may have had reason to believe there might be desire to change, but that outside ceo would take one look at their books and find all the red flags in their numbers, last thing they want is the honorable Lord Eddard Stark looking through their books and finding out their children are born of incest.

Love the GOT reference.
She's been working for/with the Yangs for 18 years ...
The odds are good she's a puppet CEO.

seeing hundreds of people celebrating this on twitter is so tragic. people are really fooled by the bare minimum smoke screen
Mehhh there is absolutely no difference. She's clearly aware and complicit in all of YG's crimes since she is supposedly the fucking CFO and supposed to know the company's finance well. All those illegal doings wouldn't have gone under her nose. She has a self interest in protecting YG and covering up all of her crimes because I'm almost certain she'll be in jail together with YG if he ever gets thrown into one.

Stan twitter is so braindead its actually scary, but what else can one expect when it comes to level of discourse when every comment is basically a one liner with the sole purpose of accompanying linking their faves' fancam. Then you got the soompi comments on twitter and on site, poor soompi has become the home to all of the oppalogists and reactionaries. Who would have ever guessed that the commentors on netizenbuzz would be the ones who are woke in comparison some day, ffs.
