Let me start with how I can see the inclination of me wanting to binge-watch favorite k-shows as they're getting dull for me.

In addition, there's also multiple platforms now that you can get variety contents today (namedly YouTube and Netflix) but it's hard to track down new shows that suits your taste.

Now I know there's a lot of good broadcast shows still out there like for e.g. Running Man and Knowing Brothers (the one I could think of right now), but I see there's a lot other fun shows too available on the other platforms like Hangout with Yoo (kinda outdated but yeah, example), or Single Inferno? and probably Lee Youngji's own show Not Much Prepared (idk the exact name)?

So yeah, what would be your go-to kshow last year and probably this year onwards?
It can be variety show, talk show, or music show.
It can be your group's own show like Apink Diary etc tooã…¡

  • Run BTS/Run Jin
  • Suchwita
  • IU's Pallete
The latter two are interesting as they're hosted by idols and only have a single guest or group (iirc, since it's been a while since I caught up w/ Pallete). Since they're on YouTube, they can often go into details about certain aspects that Korean network television simply may not allow. Granted, they're still PG-13, but I like how they can go into more detail with the guests that you often couldn't on shows with 3-5 guests per episode

Ngl I like watching fan edits and compilations on TikTok rather than watching shows, but I guess since TikTok is dying today I need to go back to YouTube :palcry:

The only kpop shows I watch religiously are TBZ Logs (their personal vlogs).

I follow seulgi’s YouTube but I’m severely behind on her videos.

This is also sort of my secret, but I’m also a suckers for those shows where kpop idols are babysitting little kids. I only watch it when my fave idols are on the show but it’s so cute my heart melts :palcry:

I’m currently watching the Stray Kids babysitting episodes because my latest obsession lately has been Stray Kids. At some point I need to start watching their vlogs as well.

*edit*

I don’t know if this counts but I’m a SUCKER for those kpop idols vouge/variety/etc get ready with me/what’s in my bag videos. There’s a Korean (magazine?) YT channel that has a whole series on kpop idols doing what’s in my bags??? I eat that up.:lurk2:

Lee Mujin Service.

Which unfortunately doesn't have its own channel (it's under KBS Kpop) so you have to search for the episodes.

Sounds like IU's Pallete is something I would watch!

This reminded me of TV show My Dad is a Superman and I'm also reminded of SNSD and SHiNee Hello Baby series back then!

My favourite! But true, he should have his own channel!!
:wow:
I loved Culinary Class Wars! I love any sort of competition reality shows, but I especially love cooking/baking ones. I hope we get another season!
Okay so Culinary Class Wars is another one I should try to watch.

She left for close to a year already I think? But she will be in today's episode as a guest.

Ever since she left, I see a lot of time that Kang Hoon and Ji Yeeun appearing as guests, it seem like the RM team is trialing them as new perm casts.

There are so many to name, but mostly they are found on YouTube and are hosted by 2nd generation idols; for instance: Hyoyeon, Jaejoong, Hyeri. I usually watch it irregularly, though. I don't mind self-hosted variety contents from idols from other generations, and I'll admit that sometimes they can actually be quite entertaining, but I often found myself gravitating more towards watching clips hosted by idols with whom I grew up.

I usually won't watch variety on TV anymore, because not only are they scripted, they also give off that vibe, too, which when I think about, makes it less entertaining for me personally. So, that's why I've moved towards self-hosted variety contents, because for me they strike a balance between the hosts maintaining a level of professionalism, especially with what they say, and it's also pleasing for viewers when they see that their guests are comfortable, judging by how relaxed some of their responses are when they answer to questions.
