YouTube will no longer count views from ads towards their internal music charts or 24h view records

Good. But my question is... aren't views counted after watching 30 secs? so watching 5 secs wouldn't give a view anyway then?

Does this mean they are only going to filter the ad views for charts and records but they will still be integrated in the view counter?
Anyways this is going to be very interesting, kpop companies relying on youtube ads are shaking in their boots as we speak :TzuyuKek:

The thing is, it doesn't seem clear on whether they will still show as a view. So most will likely still use them f the show a view counter of 20+m in a day and ad views DO have an effect on trending and pushing the video to as many people as possible...

If the only draw back is 1, you wont get to be on Youtubes charts nobody knows, or gives a shit about and 2, you wont get a little 'you broke the record' Tweet most are likely still going to use them.

It's not so bad for the big groups who's views always regulate anyway after the first day, but smaller groups will suffer a lot imho.
