Probably a year before the debut, like ITZYbased on other jyp groups, how much earlier to the new girls group debut will they make the decided/final lineup?

The girls in Team 2 in the last showcase (which if you remember during ITZY’s predebut days, it was the main team) are Lily M, Yunjin, Shinyoung, Haewon, Jiayu, Jinsol & Minji, so it’s likely that out of the current trainees those are the ones to watch out for. Hayul would’ve probably also been in that performance but she was injured, so replace Jiayu with her. I don’t think all 7 will stay, but I do think we’ll see at least 1 - 3 of them debut and the rest will be new trainees

Do you guys think there’s any chance there will be a trainee showcase in August? It’s only 3 months till then and idk if they’ll allow it due to covid.
BPiperDude
StanPersonally I think yes. There was none earlier in the year and if he is going to debut a new boy group sometime next year he needs to have another one before they would debut. I think it would be a more subdued affair with fewer people though. He needs to have some pressure put on his trainees to see how they handle things.Do you guys think there’s any chance there will be a trainee showcase in August? Debutada
LurkerWell, Stray Kids and Boy Story debuted in 2018, i think because one is from South Korea and the other isnfrom China, also, Boy Story is under one of JYP's divisions. Maybe they will do the same with a gril group, Nizi and a korean girl group in the same year. Maybe i just really want them to debut, specially Lily M since she's been waiting for so long

LurkerNizi is debuting this November, so I doubt that JYP will debut the new girl group this year too. But it is definitely possible that they will debut the girl group after a different foreign group in the same year. I also think that JYP will want to focus mainly on the new girl group when their time comes, so this could contradict the theory of JYP debuting 2 in the same yearWell, Stray Kids and Boy Story debuted in 2018, i think because one is from South Korea and the other isnfrom China, also, Boy Story is under one of JYP's divisions. LurkerOk everyone. I'm kinda freaking out from the Stray Kids teaser released today, but this also relates to the girl group so I thought I'd share it. I think the girls dressed like school girls are the nizi girls because I recognized Mako and maybe Rio. The girls in orange could either be the rest of nizi or other girl trainees!!
EDIT: Someone else on twitter realized the same thing as me, and also recognized miihi (?), rio, mako, rima, maya and ayaka!
EDIT 2: the girls in orange do seem to be the rest of nizi because (i think) it was confirmed from a Japanese tv place that nina also made it into the final lineup, and nina wasn't in the recognizable front line

StanThis had to have been filmed well before the final lineup of Nizi girls was done so they all are present there but only in the form of Trainees.Ok everyone. Reading elsewhere it sounds like the winners of the second stage got to be in skirts, while the losers were in the orange jumpsuits.

LurkerI understand what you are saying, but I think the final lineup was decided a while ago. By the months in between the auditions, moving to Korea, and in between challenges for the girls, I believe the show was filmed over 6 months ago, if not a year ago. Evidence for this is how a ton of the girls danced to Dalla Dalla by Itzy but no one danced to Icy by Itzy. This makes me believe that this was filmed prior to the release of Icy. Overall, I think that the final lineup has already been decided. This had to have been filmed well before the final lineup of Nizi girls was done so they all are present there but only in the form of Trainees.

StanPossibly but the filming definately wasn't 6 months ago. It showed them arriving in December and it takes time in between each episode to prepair a new stage. This had to have been filmed at the earliest in April and so the timeline of them already being decided by the time this video was shot doesn't make sense.I understand what you are saying, but I think the final lineup was decided a while ago. LurkerThey had already filmed some of season 2 if not all of it when they released season 1 because they excluded Suzu's performances. Anyways, the tangent we are getting on doesn't really apply to the new girl group, so I apologize for starting it. I think the deciding factor of whether the final nizi lineup was included in the mv or if it was them before, would be for us to know the nizi filming date and the skz mv filming date. Unfortunately, all we have is our own speculation, but if you have a clue as to how much earlier to the release a kpop mv if filmed, I'd love to hear itPossibly but the filming definately wasn't 6 months ago. The final Nizi members have been barely chosen, or being chosen soon. Nizi Project Season 1 was filmed in somewhere late October after Feel Special and ICY. Timeline hints were Sana & Momo's hair and TWICE were also in Japan for their concerts in late October. The last Nizi Project Global audition was in Los Angeles on August 11. ICY MV was released after in late July, so Nizi Project Season 1 & 2 couldn't have been filmed yet. Another timeline hint would be during Riku's vocal evaluation, she was asked when was her regional audition. She answered "July 15th," to which JYP replied, "So about 3 months ago." This could be then assumed Tokyo training taken placed in October. The Season 1 final members came to Korea in December, by at least the 28th to been able to attend JYP's No.1 x 50 Seoul concert.
I think the reason why there were no Icy dance covers was because the JYPE staff limited them dance to Dalla Dalla as an Itzy option. The fact that so many of the Nizi contestants sang "Yuki No Hana" for their vocal evaluation tells me there could've been a list of what they could/could not sing or dance to.

LurkerThank you for clearing this up! I knew there was some evidence as times and dates, but I was too lazy to go back and rewatch the show to find it. I agree with the speculation that its the nizi girls but not the final lineup now, although anything is possible. The final Nizi members have been barely chosen, or being chosen soon. I do think the final lineup has been decided by now though because shows typically will highlight those members and not the ones that didn't make it. Again, who knows, we are all just educationally guessing here ☺

LurkerI still can't believe Jung Dayeon is only 12-13 years old. Her facials and energy are so bright in this Feel Special cover
(She's the one who was accepted as a trainee a few months ago, I think the Psycho cover was posted here then but I'll link it)

She’s indeed such a good dancer! And her charisma is amazing
