THEY'RE SO CUTE

@Nara COME WATCH
They're so playful (and chaotic) here :heartublob:
Tbh I think so, most of the ones I have talked to dismiss WJSN and bring up 9 # 1s and say WJSN will never get a hit and SS should disband them lmao

I'm happy to see you aren't like that and I think it's cool you supported SISTAR like that. Not many can say that:love: That's a really cool picture! I see your name there how cool:christmasblob:

To me really the only thing I care about is WJSN being happy and able to continue being a group. Personally I buy 9 albums per comeback stream vote and update forums for WJSN. I do that because I want them to be successful(which they are, I should stop buying that many albums now lmao) I just want people to appreciate them and honestly its always made me sad and annoyed that Star1s didn't want to support WJSN and lots would just be mean about them. I just cant see why they would be that way.

Yeah SISTAR was a special group. They and KWILL made SS a company. Monsta X and WJSN have grown the company to a giant prison like building through their album sales and touring:TzuyuKek:. It's kinda interesting the way it looks now lmaao.

Anyways, I always like SISTAR and just wanted people to not act like WJSN are their enemy, because they aren't and never were, their just their juniors in the same company and deserve to have some respect after succeeding in a lot of different areas.

Yeah tbh I was ok until yesterday when Ujungs started getting in 2 fights at once:squirtlechristmas: But yeah you're right tho twitter is different than real life so I should keep that in mind. :hehe:

interesting read :christmasblob: on a related note, i was wondering how individual WJSN member is doing financially as everything (album sales, endorsement) have to be split --and concerts are postponed due to covid. sorry to hear about the fanwars-- both groups are successful in their own right

:LovePar:Lol sorry for getting worked up!

Soooo there is a whole lot to discuss here about how they've been doing. During 2019 WJSN sold over 200k albums and were doing all kinds of things Yeonjung and others had osts, members had multiple dramas, tv shows, king of masked singer, V1 etc. According to various WUJU members they started making money after SMSY and now for sure are making money, how much is of course hard to tell usually. Cfs, osts, dramas and solo promo will go to individual members. Album sales the artist gets between 40-60%, people have said SS pay well on that but once again hard to tell that's internal accounting so very difficult to know. With WJSN for example, a comeback they average 90k albums sold and chart at ~100 on melon, Spotify has gained a ton (doubled) since 2019. Although still lower than many groups, WJSN don't usually have same appeal to ifans as some other groups for some reason... anyways. Downloads and streaming are notorious for giving the artist a very low rate I think its like .006 cents for every stream or something goes to Artist/company. Meanwhile Album sales:

90,000 albums X $13 = $1,170,000
x 50%(average) = 585,000
- comeback cost (average of a kpop comeback is $250,000 dollars for most groups) = $335,000
divided by 10 members =

$33,500 per member per comeback just for album sales.

For 2019 that's roughly 80-100k per member(3 comebacks). When you add in osts, dramas, downloads, streaming, cfs and etc the WUJU members are doing pretty good. Wjsn also had 3-4 concerts in 2019 which make the most for kpop groups by far. Members like Exy( much lesser extent Seola and Dawon , they only have a few songs written and released) make a lot because she has over 60 songs copyrighted that she gets royalties from. Yeonjung was in IOI and most likely has always been making money as she had a seperate contract and IOI made a ton of money. Bona as well with her dramas.

They are doing pretty great really, but there is something you all should know that happened with Starship.

Covid hit in 2020 but Starship also invested into a company that would allow them to promote more overseas.

This is basically why there wasn't a full group comeback imo between Butterfly and Unnatural. If you remember how much comebacks cost($250k) you can kind of understand why Starship was acting weird in 2020(a lot of ent companies struggled with covid and lost a ton of money). However Starships kpop groups Monsta X and WJSN make them a lot of money and in 2019 they were making a very good profit(enought to buy a huge new building). Buying the company for overseas promo is why they went into a deficit but it seems like they are recovering enough to push their groups again.

Chinity are rich queens of china lmao

I know that's a lot to read but there's a lot to know:TzuyuKek:

Thanks for all this info :LovePar:i read somewhere that Starship pays their artist a high percentage but idk if that's a rumor or not. Good to see that the members are doing well- not worried about the Chinese members as I already know they're rich rich. Yes, concerts/touring brings in the most money and hopefully they would be able to resume this sometime this year or next :sanapray:

Some members had long trainee years esp. Seola (10 years) so they deserve much success :heartublob:

Sure np! :LovePar: yeah I saw one where it said they paid 80% but I take that with grain of salt WAY from Crayon Pop said its almost always over 40% also she talks about all kinds of idol income here:

Yeah they deserve so much!:heartublob:

Ahem, excuse me, they are the billionaire queens of China.
