sometimes i fans hype a song but this song's comment-like/view ratio is suspicious. probably views are coming from ads or something.

boogie up is way better to me. best poppy summer track of this year.

I'm still wishing Starship would get their act together on song composition. WJSN success is pretty strong given where the songs they are given. Boogie Up is a decent summer bop but they would have been much better off with Nature's "I'm So Pretty". Nature can't sing as well, although they dance better overall, and I think WJSN has the edge on charisma. That tune has 10M views for Nature, which as a group is less positioned for success. It could have been pretty big for WJSN. I liked the e.one WJSN stuff but everything since has been good at best. That's my rant for today, carry on ;)
i understand that wjsn's discography isn't to your taste, i respect your opinion. however, i dont find it necessary to bring down nature for their singing where it was also implied that wjsn cant sing, or at least that's how i interpreted it. some may prefer boogie up, some may prefer i'm so pretty, to each his own as they say, can't please everyone. i've seen many more praises for wjsn's albums compared to negative comments, from casual listeners to ujungs. i don't follow nature closely enough to comment on their dancing but you cannot deny that each member of wjsn pulls their own weight in this aspect. i've watched more than enough stages and dance vids to confidently say this

regarding youtube views, it really is the least of our worries as other users have pointed out. having millions of views doesnt translate into profit.

i've been following wjsn very closely since their debut, literally since the day of their debut and seeing how far they've come and how much they've grown, how much their fanbase has grown, i have to disagree with you. it seems that you're talking about title tracks so i'll say this: every song after secret saw their fanbase grow. it's undisputed that the group has been gaining more and more fans as well as positive attention with every comeback they make and if that is not a sign of growth, i don't know what is. i personally think they are doing very well for themselves in this over-saturated market

I wouldn't say that. Composition is very important to me. If I didn't like a lot of the WJSN songs I wouldn't be posting in this thread. I like Boogie Up quite a bit. I just wish it were even stronger. To me, musically, Boogie Up has one really strong highlight: the syncopated bass line on Seola's part. I think "I'm So Pretty" gives me more: the two part pre-chorus, teasing the chorus in the opening verse, the nifty bridge, and the chorus itself at the end when they pull in the ad libs and stronger chords.

The real point of my post was to identify the chief way I see for the product to improve and have greater success.

I'm not sure what you are saying here. I was merely comparing Nature to WJSN, and saying WJSN is stronger at singing. Not sure how you got there.

Several respondents have made a similar point. It's true as far as it goes. Clearly more views are better, and clearly they aren't the be all and end all. But you and I both know that when WJSN has 10M views in a week it's going to be called out here a LOT.

I've been following them almost as long (back to that Soobin+Seola stage performance with K.Will of one of his tunes), and I agree their base is growing. I'm just identifying what I think it takes to get to the next level.

Clearly more views are better

Views views views. Views do not determine how good the quality of music is. There are groups with MV with millions and millions of views but to call some of their songs are so questionable.

And peoples whom called out 10m views in a week are just obssessed with success rather than WJSN music. Lol.

I wouldn’t call 10m views with 7k likes or 20m with 19k likes better tho especially without digital and physical sales. What’s the point having more views but no one public know the song other than for fans to brag about it lol.

You are all getting hung up on the views. It was just a data point in a single example. It's not an important one. It could have 10 views and my thoughts would remain the same: better composition is what I see as the main opportunity for WJSN.

There is a tendency in fan bases to have an immune reaction to anything seen as critical. Find something to latch onto an attack it. In this case it's my views comment. But it doesn't change anything.

Better composition. Meh.

Music is not deep. Either you like it or don't.

Well we can’t debate about song composition because it depend on people taste. Maybe other song is better for you but not for others.
Like i think zimzalabim from rv is stupid song but there are ton of people who said it’s genius and good song with complicated music. Well lets just respect other preferences instead forcing your ego.

i see, honestly i dont have such knowledge in music so i can't really say anything here but speaking generally, imo, kpop fans dont really go in depth when it comes to music composition and those who do, coming back to my earlier point, each and everyone has their own opinions and preferences so some may agree with you and some may not

your opinion was well read

apologies if i misunderstood what you meant, this threw me off "Nature can't sing as well". if that wasnt truly what you meant i do apologize

you're not wrong about it possibly being called out a lot. however, it's only better if the ratio of views to likes are decent at best. if that ever happens, sure we may bring it up but it definitely doesnt mean success

i see, i guess i kinda understand where you're coming from now. i misinterpreted your initial post and it rubbed me off the wrong way. well they're currently on the rise so hopefully starship capitalizes on the opportunity to maximize their potential
